Ok...gotta get rid of my Logitech Z-560's...

...they're too loud. I need either a 4.1 setup that's quieter without as much bass or a 2.1 setup and some good headphones.

Please reccomened what I should get, keeping them is not an option. Thanks!

The BA4800's look pretty good. I listened to the z560's at Best Buy, the bass response is indeed impressive but the midrange seemed lacking.

I'll trade you my Cambridge Soundworks FPS2000 4.1 Speaker setup for your Logitech Speakers. But seriously these sound about what you want, the only bad thing is that theres no headphone jack... but thats where the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz comes in handy.

I've heard both the Klipsch 4.1s and the Z560s. While both are quite good, I am not willing to trade my BA4800s just yet. My only serious temptation comes from the BA7800s

It's not that I have it too loud, they shake the floor. Thats with the bass turned down all the way and the volume only 1/8th of it's full potential.

My soundcard is a Hercule Fortissimo II which I think is sufficient enough.

My suggestion may get raped by audiophiles, but isn't it possible to put the sub on something padded to stop the shaking? Would that muffle the sound too much? I love my Z560s...

I love mine.. they are tweakable (and they need tweaking), providing you have a decent card. I use my Cruz' 10 band EQ.

I also own the Z560s, and the volume is just right. My sound card is an SB Live! 5.1 POS.

There is some variance in the volume between different drivers, i.e. Creative's drivers for W98, WXP's default drivers, and Linux's drivers.

If the speakers are pumping out an obscene amount of bass or raw power, then I think the audio drivers are partly to blame.

My volume is set just below half, and the bass is at half.

Just use a software equalizer to turn down the bass.

got a set of klipsch 4.1's- my volume dial can never go above a quarter of max, and my bass a half, or I would'nt be able to hear anything in my room and my roommate would kill me. they've got a handy headphone jack in one of the front satellites though.
