We are about to go down by 1 Pnode to the /. We can?t let this happen. They beat us again on today?s output. For the day they came in with 185.841 Tnodes to our 165.791 Tnodes. We have got to get some more machines counting rulers. We are letting /. Slip away a little at a time. It would only take a few more machines out there to get us back on top of things!!!!

As far as the rest of the field for the day, The Amiga team came in with 83.268 Tnodes and the DPC had 62.733 Tnodes. The Wonder Monkeys were down the list with 35.615 Tnodes.

To see just how close things are, you can check out my OGR-25 battle graphs here.

Let?s all get some more machines counting rulers folks. Most people are helping the fight on RC5, but this is a 2 front war here. We need to get some more resources on the OGR side of things. It would be so easy for us to rock the house.

Take care,

-Mike

I've got a friend with a K6-2 400 that's been cracking OGR now for about 1.5 months without a flush.. maybe I should give him the thumbs up? 😉

Yes get those K6s on OGR where they Rule instead of suck like RC5.
There is no better project for K6s than OGR!

Yeh Geekish, you better see how that machine is doing. If they run out of OGR, they will just start cracking RC5 randoms. :Q

viz, he usually checks up on it every week. He had about 4 full rc5 buff outs stashed away too. It's not much, but for his computers it's a lot of work. Every litte bit counts, guys! 🙂

I threw some cows on OGR for the big PTEIV for Viz, and I've kept one cow cracking OGR since then under the TWTA email. Not much, does 1 WU in ~24 hours. 🙂

If I had some K6s I would have them cracking OGR too. 🙂

well its not much but i threw on a p200 for org , i figure it will make more of a diffrence in org than rc5, i will see if i can get a few k6 2s for org , i belive a few people i know own them

Just thought of something, i have a cousin who has an old K6. Original K6. Not the K6II. How good is the K6 in OGR?

Getting a 800 Tbird system delivered to the office on the 6.11
will let it run OGR for The Federation.

All of the K6 family is good at OGR. The 2s and 3s may be slightly faster, but the huge efficiency difference between OGR and RC5 with K6s makes OGR the best project for all of them.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Those few machines will help greatly to narrow the gap against /. Great job guys!

this is nuts for 3 hours i have been cracking org and i've been at 20% for 2 of those hours .... whats up with that ? also is the athlon faster at org or rc5 ?

OGR is very different than RC5, The work units take much longer to complete and the size varies greatly. What you saw is very normal for OGR.

Both the PIII and the whole athlon series are pretty even. Neither one is much better in OGR or RC5.

Thanks for helping out joeyd!

edit: I forgot to say that the crunch-o-meter is not accurate in OGR. It can jump around quite a bit.
