Why the increase in anti-Mexican (and I'm not talking about Mexican-Americans, for those who are about to cry racism. This is an entirely cultural rant.) sentiment, you ask?

My favorite radio station - the only radio station worth listening to in Houston, ROCK 101 KLOL, changed formats to Tejano music...

Mega 101 FM... Latino and Proud.

Don't get me wrong. I love Mexican culture. I have a degree in Spanish, and about 30 hours of college study on Mexican history and culture. But having said that, it is something I'd prefer to experience from afar.

Houston now has like 23 Tejano radio stations. There is no rock radio station anymore.

I can listen to Britney lament about her alleged loneliness on *one* station.
I can listen to classic rock on *one* station.
Country? 2 stations.

Why in the blue hell does someone need to listen about some campesino prattle on about the tragic loss of his burro on 23 fvcking stations?

I do not have the economic resources to start my own station. I'd prefer not to have to buy XM at this juncture, since I'll be buying a car next year.

I have the inalienable right to bitch. If everyone on ATOT quit their bitching all at once, the forum would cease to exist entirely. A vacuum would result, and sadly, the last 3 decent websites left in cyberspace would be crushed under the massive weight of the IGN network.
 
Just listen to cds or mp3s dude, I quit listening to radio a long time ago. Well, the only time I listen is for sports news.
 
I don't listen to the radio since i got an MP3 player in my car. I hear ya though man...i live in Phoenix...and we have a gripload of spanish stations now too.

I should not be compelled to listen to MP3s in my fvcking car. America is all about Rock and Roll. We created it. It is ours. The Brits made a contribution or 20, but Rock and Roll is still ours.

... and now I can't listen to it anymore on my radio. The bandwidth of my American airwaves are being clogged by the sound of accordions, trumpets, and whiny Spanish.

That is it. I'm moving to Fargo, ND.
 
most of radio is crap anyway. you could just think about the music you want to listen. it's like your very own radio that you can switch songs at will, even mid-song! so it's not so bad.
