My main system is still a P200, 80mb of ram (upgraded from 16!), 2.5gb HDD, W95.
I'm running a 10/100 ethernet NIC into a 3Com cable modem that gives me good Internet speed using Optimum On Line. That and e-mail is basically all I normally do.
I think a 486/DX2-66 will still perform as well as the newest machines for tasks as simple as these.
I really want to upgrade shortly though, because I want to learn some basic CAD/CAM, and also to be able to work in programs similar to "photoshop".
