ok heres the story. I have a 3mb line and it works fine. but I recently started using newsgroups and my isp caps the download at 125KB per IP. but my ISP also allows me upto 5 IPs which I only currently using 2 could I add an extra nic to my computer and assign a program to use the other nic for newsgroup purposes? I know I won't double my per connection speed but I don't care about that I would just like to get the second connection so I can download 2 things at 125kb each

You know, in NT/W2K/XP, you can assign multiple (static) IPs to a physical NIC. I'm not sure how many client programs allow you to explicitly bind to one or another IP when making connections though. Most don't. If you only get allocated 5 dynamic IPs, I'm not sure how that would work either.

intersting...won't work for me since I get assigned dynamic ips. but I also did some checking and my news server will also accept connections on 120 and 119 ports. so I guess I just need to find a program that will route port 120 to one nic and 119 to the other
