OK, best AMD mobo thats' mATX?

Ok I'm running a 690G mobo right now and its probably time to upgrade. I have a new 7850BE proc that can POSSIBLY have the other 2 cores turned on, which I need ACC for.... It would have to be mATX. I've been looking at this DFI mobo. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Yeah that DFI is pretty sweet- keep in mind it is DDR3 and you will need DDR3 memory. There is also the Biostar mATX board- both companies have an excellent reputation so you can't go wrong with either. But the 7850BE is the original 65nm Phenom right? In that case theres no DDR3 controller so it is the Biostar board you go for.

I've used two of the 790GX mATX motherboards. I prefer the Biostar (first one)

Remember, your processor is not AM3 so you can use an AM3 motherboard (the DFI).

The DFI board you're looking at is for AM3 CPU only (and DDR3). 7850 BE will not fit..

Ok I got that all cancelled... WHEW!

I re-took the plunge however and got this Jetway 790GX board. It can take bothe AM2 AND AM3 cpus, and has BOTH DDR2 and DDR3 slots. So I can use this mobo with the cpu and memory I have now until I feel the need to upgrade the memory and/or the cpu.

There are no reviews of it so I'm venturing into unknown territory with this. Its certainly a less expensive route - I had a new mobo, cpu and memory ordered before! Something like 340 bucks worth of stuff....

Anyone have experiences with Jetway or this board in particular?

Wait a minute, I'm confused. Whats the difference between the mobo I bought and the Jetway in the second link above? They look the same to me. I should email them....


EDIT: Ok I see that the one I ordered has an eSATA port and a much better HS on the mobo when I compare the pics. The other one seems to only support DDR2 as well. I don't really know why theres' a COMBO listed in the product detail though...

That JetWay board looks interesting, to say the least. Didn't know such a board existed. Let us know how it goes.

I will post about the experience. I hope I can find a way to swap it without having to reformat WindowsXP and all.

I guess the "Combo" in the product designation refers to the fact that it supports both memory standards. I'd love to see Anand review it.

Any updates on that Jetway 790GX JMA3-79GDG-COMBO-LF Motherboard? I've just ordered this MB with the Phenom II X3 705E CPU and would be great to see what your experience has been like...
