I have to agree with @IronWing . Your wife is wrong about the waistcoat. It looks beautiful and the color tones are perfect. I love wearing clothes that are on the more flamboyant side to special occasions. IMO it makes the occasion more special because you went out of your way to dress for it and that shows the host you care.

I do have some reservations about a light pink suit though. While I do think it would pair well with the waistcoat you picked out you mentioned you have a pale complexion. IME that doesn't always work well with softer colors like light pink or light blue. Even in the image you posted the person has a darker complexion. Just something to think about.

Anyway, this is just my two cents. I really think you should take your own advice and try a suit on in the color you have chosen before you buy it.:)
You were very right about the pink, I'm definitely too palid for it!
I had to go for natural linen suit n the end. I did get a pretty 70s double breasted one though.

I had to get a suit for my daughters wedding. I wanted a double breasted suit and it was difficult to find. Even went to a store and they said "No they are not in style" (translation, we do not have any in the store so I cannot get a commission.) Went to that stores website and ordered a pin striped double breasted suit. Between the suit, the shoes and the 1941 truck I drove to the wedding I think you could say I was born in the wrong time.

My son just looks damn good in his tux!

I hope you got out of the truck carrying a violin case! I'm liking your style there!

My wife took a picture to send to my mum and Google googlified it! Google obviously thinks I'm a TV presenter on an Italian pop music show in the 70s ( which is kinda the look I was going for tbh).

Glad to hear you found a suit that will work and more importantly you found one you feel you look good in. That is the most important part.:)

I also got a waistcoat to match the suit. I wouldn't normally bother with a double breasted suit but it's going to be hot and I can ditch the jacket and still look somewhat smart with the waistcoat.
(Also I really fucking like wearing a waistcoat)

You look great! I hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding. Eat some food have some drinks and don't forget to hit up the dance floor at least twice with your wife. Trust me I know from experience she will love it! :)

Bloke do you have psychedelics too such as shrooms, DBT, and LSD? I want to talk to dead people.

Ahhh, not done any psychedelics for many years! I have a weird theory that there's only so many doses you can do before it stops being fun! Wouldn't mind micro dosing some though!

A waist coat/vest is a very bad idea if your objective is to stay cool. Not only is it an extra layer of insulation for your core but it also blocks any nice breezes that might come along.

I don't know about the UK, but I rarely see 3 piece suits here in the states and especially not in the summer unless, maybe, if you work in an over-air conditioned office like a data center.

As for the color, I'm not a fan pink, even a very pale pink. Light lavender would be a better choice IMHO - assuming that you want to stand out. Otherwise, I go with undyed linen and a bright, cobalt blue, silk tie.

My thinking with a three piece is that I can ditch the jacket as soon as possible and just wear the waistcoat. I'd rather not spend the evening in just a shirt and linen trousers.
