why does everyone always thing that nintendo is crap

behind the PS2 the GC was the next best console, and the only reason the PS2 wins is because it was out a year earlier

Yep. All we've had so far is press conferences. The actual expo starts manana. Though, everyone seems to be releasing a buttload of screenshots of their games now.

I do have to say that I am now mildly unimpressed with the PS3 press conference. Just about every thing they showed during the press conference was pre-rendered with the exception of Unreal Tournament.

Each company excels in a different area, or did with their previous releases... let's take a quick glimpse:

Microsoft Xbox: Online gameplay, storage (hard disk), technically superior to GameCube & PlayStation 2, easy to develop for, high-def connections
Nintendo GameCube: Small size, portability, high quality games
Sony PlayStation 2: DVD-playback out of the box, backwards compatability, large library of games (though lots of crap)

Now here we are at 2005 / 2006 releases:

Sony PlayStation 3: Media integration, high-defination playback, support, and output
Microsoft Xbox 360: Uh... first to market, I guess
Nintendo Revolution: No clue...

Okay, so I haven't really looked at all the information about the Revolution, and even though I've read articles on the Xbox 360, I really can't see it bringing anything new to the table; rather it seems Microsoft is improving on what they already did right (and nothing wrong with that). I got no clue what Nintendo is planning, although that console looks like crap; someone send that fake video to their prototypers pronto so they can learn... the toaster look works.

i expewcted NOTHING

and seeing as the GC was powerfull as hell, ill gladly take 2-3x as powerfull as it, and if you bothered to read the other 11ty billion threads about this you woudl realize that the 10-30x numbers that MS and sony claim are most likely total BS as they were when the PS2 and xbox first same out, nintendo has always had more realistic numbers

and i cant even imagin what a game like Metroid with 2-3x the power behind it could look like, and RE4, god damn that woudl be insane seeing as it allready looks better then anything on the PS2 or Xbox and its running on the GC

i dont know how realistic sony's specifications are. remember the emotion engine and toy story graphics.

msft on the other hand took off the shelf mac parts (instead of pc parts this time) and so it should be pretty easy to program for.

Xbox360 - High-definition game playback. integrates with WinXP MCE to playback regular and HD video, music, pictures, and more. Adding lots of new features to Live! including free and paid tiers.

I'm with you on Nintendo Revolution. Other than a tiny form factor, they didn't show anything.

Errr...a custom 3-core PowerPC chip and a custom ATI GPU is not off the shelf mac parts...

Online gaming should be free, period.

Nintendo is not giving away too much information for one of two reasons.
1. They have nothing and are just scrapping together the basic concepts right now
2. They have some features that are completely unique to the Revolution.

Remember, no one reveals pocket aces pre-flop. Now that they know what is on the table, they'll release information accordingly.
