1) Fats and oils are necessary for survival.
2) Fats and oils are one major thing that make you feel full and eat less. Therefore a proper balance of oil can make you lose weight. This is the big reason the low fat fad in 80s and 90s left us with much fatter Americans.
Thus oil is very healthy. Too much of the wrong kind though will slightly increase your chance for heart problems. I had a list somewhere, don't know where. Just do a google search and I'm sure you'll get thousands of answers.
So if you die if you don't have it, should we call it unhealthy?Originally posted by: Gibson486
i know that, i am just saying that "healthy" is not exactly the best word to use.
Try Flax Seed Oil, I take a tblspoon of it every morn. It's gotta be one of the healthiest things.Originally posted by: SampSon

Depends on the oil in question. Other than packing a lot of calories in a small space, stuff like flaxseed oil is a very "healthy" thing. On the other hand.....drippings from your new yord strip steak, congealed and spread on toast, are not very "healthy".Originally posted by: Gibson486

I think the OP's intention was more geared towards oils used in cooking.Originally posted by: SP33Demon
