did you just typed that up? :Q![]()
You'd be surprised at how many brands are actually made by Wix. I used to work for one of the largest automotive distributors in the country, and got a glimpse at how that industry works.personally i use any Wix clone i can find. napa sells them as Napa Gold (these will usually come with a softer gasket and a silicone-red anti-drainback valve too which is kind of unnecessary but pretty to look at) or Verdic.. Purolators are always a good bet, AC (in canada these are Wixes)..

You'll get as many opinions on this as there are brands of oil filters.
OEM filters are always a safe bet, but for what they charge you for one, you can buy three quality aftermarket filters like Fram, etal.
When I was changing my own oil, I always bought Fram filters. Never did me wrong, always worked great.
Now that the dealer changes the oil in my truck (it's FREE...part of my deal when I bought my truck was free oil changes for LIFE.) they use the OEM Isuzu filters....which are probably made by some big oil/filter company anyway.

Not much different from 'rebadging' computer hardware like CDRW drives, and Wix is one of the largest OEM manufacturers. We used to buy out Napa or Carquest stores, pull all the Napa or Carquest parts, take them back to the warehouse and put the parts in our boxes or just slap our labels on them. Everybody does it.
What's the best oil filter? One that you change often.

you don't. most any filter will work good for 3000 miles/5000 km. synthetic oil users (a whole 'nother topic) will possibly want to go longer, so a well-constructed filter is a must.
