Oil drilling approved for Alaska

I hope your kidding it won't cheapen oil by even a nickle a barrel. . .
All it doesn is strenghten domestic supply a little bit, a very little bit.
The US consumes 20 million barrels a day and they est 330 million barrels? that will get you little more than two weeks worth.
Guess again
Total supply of ANWAR , 16 billion or 800 days worth, little better than two yrs, Alaskan oil isn't the answer

I really have no problem with the drilling in Alaska. The Alaska pipeline has not been detrimental to the environment.

However, I would prefer to see federal funds going to the development of alternative fuels instead of tapping into what should be an obsolete fuel source.

teh XXXon valdez disagrees.

but increasing our domestic oil supply a whole 4% by turning polar bears into black bears will indeed delay the moment oil hits $75/barrel by weeks, maybe even months.

However, I would prefer to see federal funds going to the development of alternative fuels instead of tapping into what should be an obsolete fuel source.

Wow, something I actually completely agree with. As long as they don't affect that wildlife, why should anyone care?

Why are private companies being allowed to suck the profits away, this is an American resource. If they are going to drill for the oil, the profit should go back to the US against our debt.......
