Hating a credit card company is like hating bacon for making you fat.
It's delicious and great as long as you don't eat it for every meal.

i just realize i didnt set up auto pay on my credit card! so i called and had them waive late fee and paid it up but does this mean i am financialy ruined if i ever want to buy a car or house?

Sorry to break the news to you, but its time to have a Jim Jones cool-aid party.

Get ready to live in poverty for the rest of your life, as not only will your credit be ruined, but you will probably never be able to find another job.

Nice knowing you, be sure to include me in your will.

Personally, I dont worry about late fees or credit card ratings, because I do not have a credit card. You can not worry about something if it does not exist.

No one knows how they really work the credit ratings, but I would say 1 week is fine. The only ding on my rating was a 60 day mistake due to crossed signals in billing cycles, and my credit is still mid 700's.

Just don't make a habit of being a week late. My dad was saying something that it isn't even enough to pay your bills on time, but that your credit will improve if you pay them way early. Not sure how much truth their is to that.

None. There is no pays early option on your credit report.

depends if they report it.

Had a late payment back in Aug 08, called discover, they waived the fee (I was a 10+ year card member) and when I checked my credit reporting later, they listed that month as "paid on time".

They don't report every mistake to the credit bureaus.

I was late on a payment for a jc penny card once, about a week as well. Paid it and the late fee, never showed up on my credit report.

No you're fine. You just have to wait 7 years for a house or 3 years for a car loan.

It depends, if the bank is in Texas - they will find you and shoot you.

Otherwise, it's not a big deal.

write a pome to the credit bureaus and they will most likely overlook this offense and not ding you.

When you're late on a payment, your credit score gets reset and you start from 0. Have fun building it back up over the next decade or 2 sucker.

What if I'm diligent to throw up shortly after every meal?

For a bunch of High-Rolling, Investment savvy, $500K yr. earning, cash paying ATOTers, you guys sure seem overly concerned about your "Credit Score", whatever that is.
