I just had to send out an email ssaying that I wasn't interested in a ~30K a year job shortly after I graduate with my associates degree and instead and going to be going into a lot of debt for a BS. 30K is quite a bit in my area too, a nice 2 bedroom home is 60K. *sniff* I sure hope school is worth a nother two years of poverty and not having money to indulge in my hobbies :(

Why not take the job & go to school part time? That way you get some money right away, can enjoy yourself, & still finish your degree?

or you can do like i did and work ft and go to school ft as well. seriously, your primary concern should be finishing school, so try to find something part time, or talk to them and see if they would allow you to work part time instead.

Viper, the university and this job are 90 miles away. The job is in my hometown, but all we've got is a community college. i've already signed a year lease on my apt too or I'd be very tempted.......which is probably a good thing ;)

I have an idea where you live and let me tell you this. Dont fall into the trap of living well where you are unless that is where you want to stay forever. Get your Bachelors. An AA is not very highly thought of (no disrespect meant) but you just will not advance unless you are very very lucky or very very good.

I had the BS but lived in a low income area. Getting hired for 30 sounds good but what is it worth elsewhere?

Vipers advice was good provided you can and do.

Oh I know that once I started making decent money the hunger for more would grow and going to college would get more difficult each day. I still feel that I could do just as well without a degree in the field, but I'm still going to try for it as a safety net in case the job market drops out in the field years from now. I still want some money though and just had to grumble about it ;) I've gotta go scout the college town out for some computer shops or places that need a tech, gonna be hard to find though :(
