looks like my fridge after my roomate cut off the power over SUMMER break. 100+ degree temps and nasty freezer ice melting. Stench invaded subsequent meats that went into this freezer. Cleaning was futile.

Thats what I did, except it was 2 slices of bread, and one of those orange cream ice cream bars. The ice cream bar didn't do much, but the 2 slices of bread grew to like death star size. Opening the mini-fridge could be detected at the door to my room, from the smell.
Nobody helped me clean it...
LOL. That's not as bad as the other poster who linked to the pix of the refrigerator, though.
In any case, I wouldn't worry about getting sick. Mold isn't really harmful, although if your food is getting moldy, that's definitely a sign you should toss it.
don't worry about it. I ate taco meat that sat out for 4 days one time and started cr@pping black, I went to the doctor and he said it was normal as was my vomiting. He said not to worry unless I saw "excessive ammounts of blood". Needless to say I took a week off work. It was aweful but it probably won't kill ya. /shrug
Was there ever a point during this when the thought "This probably isn't a good idea" went through your mind?
