Nothing is cancelled, unless you ordered more than 2. If BB wanted to cancel all orders, they would have done it 2 weeks ago.

It just seems like people wanting to get something for nothing

BS, the item was on sale, and marked as such.

Retail = $399
You save $100
Sale = $299

lol bes buy is so dumb. I got 3 different things from 3 different people. I wouldn't be surprised if both of us were screwed. One lady told me that I wouldn't get it till the 1st, two others told me it;d be shipped tomorrow but they don't put it on the site as to not excite the buyers and expect it sooner. Furthermore they said no stores would have it for in store pickup. The guy I talked to said the ETA was updated every 3 hours with leeway(sp) towards the actual date as I said, to no excite buyers. Your guy says every 15 minutes. Basically, your BB CS rep refuted mine... It really means nothing now I guess since both of them are contradicting each other
Not necessarily, at least where the canceled orders are concerned. I edited in what I believe the rep was looking at when he tolod you a bunch of canceled orders showed up. The shipping date is another matter, but as my cs rep and the web site are in synch I'd tend to believe that over a rep's spoken word that everything else contradicts ;)

in a perfect world I get my card tomorrow and you get yours on the first

ill update tomorrow if i get a tracking #

Those guys make buzzards look like vegitarians.

Best Buy was slapped with a multi-million dollar fine about 10 years ago for false advertising. They would advertise a price, have 1 item in stock and then not honor the price. The scam they were running was to just get people into their stores and not into their competitors.

So this does not surprise me in the least as BB has a history of doing this. You may not think it is a big deal but how many people went ahead and bought the card and didnt from a competitor? And how many do you want to bet will just stay with the order and get the card at 400 bucks?

Very good points. But this is just more proof that patience pays off. Nobody would be going through this if they just waited for this junk to hit retail shelves and not pre order the shiznit out of everything on the web.

We're going to get the card from BestBuy at $299. Don't worry. The orders haven't been cancelled. Ignore this troll. Scott Herkelman from BFG have confirmed that all Bestbuy preorders for 6800 GT and 6800 Ultras have been filled and already sent to Bestbuy. So don't worry. Every preorder will be filled on the first shipment. Scott is aware of the BestBuy pricing error. Bestbuy is honoring the price. Don't let this troll tell you otherwise.

"Scott? Can you release any allocation #'s?
Having also pre-ordered the BFG 6800 Ultra OC, I would love to hear that BB will be recieving plenty to cover presales (as well as when you expect to ship to them?)

As of today BFG has Best Buy's pre-orders covered. We are working closely with Best Buy to make sure that anyone who has pre-ordered the BFG 6800 Ultra OC has the product on the way to them between June 28th and July 5th (potentially earlier ).

Hope this helps, thanks,

Headbust,
The BFG 6800 GT OC has the same status, which is BFG currently has all of Best Buy's orders covered as of today and the shipping schedule is the same

Thanks,

Why the hell are you calling me a troll for reporting what I heard from a service rep? Even after repeatedly saying I hope you get your cards?

No kidding.

cain: What did you do in retail that gave you this information? Please don't say cashier lol.

The guy on the phone said it irritated the sales reps because everyone wanting to get the ridiculous deal calls them and bitches at them when they have no control over what the suits say.

jd103: maybe you shouldn't be trying to buy top of the line then? or damn close to it as the GT is. as many people are noticing, there is basically no mid range market for GFX cards anymore.

OMG u trust what the guy from best buy says? of course he is gonna push the play onto the manufacturer... its human nature to pass blame and its always in a business's best interest to deny any responsibility... How can u take best buys side.???? its called false advertising! they mucked up the price... not me.. not u.. not cainum... it is their mistake! Consumer law in australia says they have to honor that price! All i have to say it pity its a US company...

dude your a car salesmans dream... "Yer she's a bit rusty.. and she doesnt actually start.. but thats not my fault.. the car company is riding us too hard..." lol

This entire thread is pointless and based on incorrect info. Bestbuy is honoring the price and we'll get our card. OP is a troll. I think that about covers everything.

Better take a look at this fiasco with video cards and Best Buy on the $129.00 Ti4600 pre-order scam.

"To review, in February2002 a price listed on Best Buy's website and on many in-store price tags read "VisionTek GeForce4 Ti4600 for Special Pre-Order Price of $129.00 ... the savings is a $200.00 Value". More than 2,000 consumers placed orders at that price on Best Buy's website. Originally, the number was estimated to be around 1,400; it is now confirmed that more than 2,000 people have valid orders, some with more than one card per receipt."

Still no cards
