Hehehehehhe. /me skips town.

The problem with that plan, is there is a TA or SysOpt member in almost every town. :(

Actually, I've been doing some learning. I know that GameBox has been up and then down, and many many more times of that then I need to write. The truth is, that I have gotten busy with work, and in less then a week I drive to comdex. I will be loading debian onto my laptop and bringing it down to start work on some ideas and get more stuff finalized on it.

I'm sorry about it being delayed. I just haven't been able to do critical work on it because of work and family visiting. After comdex I hope to have more reading done, and a fair amount of the needed understanding done with. I hope that by the who thanksgiving break and christmas start, we will all have a very popular and killer game machine.

For now, I will see what I can do to open it back up through my cable modem.

Is it possible to just have the UT version up 24/7 through your pipe at work. We can worry about customizing it to everyone's needs later, but let's get the box to do at least UT.

I'm basing my suggestion of UT as it has been the most widely used game. If there is a majority that would prefer another game, fine, but lets get the game up!!! ;)

I hate UT. I just play it for an excuse to buy faster cracking hardware. I mean, if all I did was surf the Internet, I could be using a Cyrix or something!

Doh! I used "that" word! *flees from the angry mob armed with large Trouts...*

The pipe at work is still up in the air for this. Now I say that because when gamebox and myself are in the same building I tend to work on it instead of work. :( (I need to finish a project before I go to ComDex, but when that project is done, I can work on GB) But, I will see what I can do to get a solid UT running through my cable modem if you guys will live with that bandwidth for a little longer.

What do you say?
Can you deal with an uncapped Cable Modem connection?

I thought most cable modems nowadays were DOCSIS compliant? How did you uncapp it?

I live 400 feet away from a node that doesn't "officially" support Cable. So when I finally convinced the installers to give it to me anyway, they removed all filters and limitations from my node. Plus being that the node doesn't "officially" support cable modems. No one else is on my connection.

I'm a cheap bastard, but I love my connection.

After attempting to play Q3A this weekend, I vote for UT! At least in UT I can actually hit something besides people that are away from their PCs, or spend most of my time falling off maps! :Q
