------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tell that to Peter Botha who thought the same.

That would have been a snappy comeback except for the fact that no one who matters sees this as equivalent. There hasn't been an efficient means to deal with Imadinnerjacket, and everyone is going to jump into this mess? Not bloody likely.

Sigh. The whole idea of a 2 state solution necessarily acknowledges the existence of the other state. Which is what's supposedly on the table, kinda, except that the Israelis apparently aren't really willing to let that happen. They like it the way it is, nibbling off pieces of the territory they've occupied to serve their own population's desires. And they'll talk, sure, but they'll stop short of any truly feasible solution for the Pals, other than continued subjugation and occupation.

Deeds, CC, not words, are the true measure of any situation, and the Israelis deeds are not those of a party seeking to compromise but rather to deceive, as they've done all along. Not that the Pals are much better, if at all, but the Israelis are the ones in control, occupying territory they tacitly acknowledge isn't theirs- otherwise, why talk at all? Can any reasonable solution at all be reached w/o Israeli concessions?
What deeds have come from the Pal side?
Israel has asked for acknowledgement of their state and peace - the Pals have yet to publically accept that and/or attempt to deliver.
What are the Pals offering?
Who actually speaks for them? Fatah, Hamas, PLO, Arab League, Iran, Hezbollah...?

Ongoing annexation of territory isn't a peaceful process, CC, so the Israeli claims of wanting peace seem hollow. And their usual song and dance wrt recognition of their state by the Pals is equally so. First acknowledge our state, then we can talk about what we'll leave for your state, if anything. It's a trap.

Recognition is necessarily a part of a larger agreement, a package deal.

Who speaks for the Pals? Well, clearly Fatah speaks for the West Bank, and Hamas for Gaza. That's the way the Israelis and the Neocons wanted it, why they first staged an election, then armed and supported the Fatah revolt against the elected Hamas govt. Divide, conquer, and obfuscate all at the same time.

Yet they elected Hamas...or they supposedly elected Hamas. I do not see where israel fits into why represenys the palestinians........

Oh cheer up JediY, Israel spins a very tangled web too. Net result we have a middle east powder keg 62 years and counting.

Which fuse will ignite the explosion that burns everyone up if things don't change?

Okay -- the lets compare Israels spin on things vs Lemon law`s Spin on things...
No comparison Lemon law wins hands down.

No Israeli could even come close to dreaming up or purposely mis-interpreting the facts.
What`s interesting is your beliefs on what change entails.
Your beliefs are simply everything for the palestinians nothing for Israel.

I`m just wondering if perhaps you secretly desire such a military response in that part of the world, that people would call it Armageddon.

The bottom line is I really enjoy reading your posts while drinking my morning Cappuccino because they are so full of inventiveness and comedic value.
