Kudos to Ryan of AMDMB.com for standing his ground in the face of impending legal adversity and exercising his 1st Amendment Right as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America. Certainly it have been easier to buckle under the legal pressure and simply remove the chronicle of his recent experiences with THG.

The internet and constitution are two seperate things. As for caring about who saw what laptop. If you dont care about it, why the fcvk are you posting here.

Glad it's over and props to Ryan for voicing his interpretation as to what happened.

Out of the whole thing, Omid comes out sounding like a big, fat pompous @ss. Obviously he cannot state with 100% certainty what was or was not said since he was not around for any of it. Yet, in the same light, he chooses to slam Ryan.

My only question is one where Omid said that Ryan called him a jack@ss on his page, yet I never read that anywhere. Anyone else see that?

Omid should be looking for a new job the way he handled this thing. At this point and apology is pointless. Heck, even my not-so-politically correct friends could've handled it better.

Cliff notes version?

Cliff Notes Version:

-Ryan from amdmb.com went to MML2
-At MML2 AMD gave a presentation about the Athlon64
-Ryan claims that he was not allowed to enter the building since THG had an "exclusive"
-Other web tech reporters were allowed to enter since they agreed not to post any A64 related material until after THG
-Ryan claims that this "exclusive" arrangement was not sanctioned by management at AMD, nor MML2, and that nobody had a right to keep him out or prevent his reporting
-There were no NDA's, etc and the situation was based on an agreement between individual THG and AMD reps at the event
-Ryan was angry and posted his feelings about the situation on amdmb.com
-THG sent a very snooty "sort-of-response" to The Inq which belittled "fanboy sites"
-]H posted a bunch of stuff supporting Ryan
-THG via a phone call threatened to sue Ryan for Libel saying that his article was a fabrication
-]H offered their retained attorney and posted further comments supporting Ryan
-Ryan's attorney advised him to refrain from posting his own comments about the situation in his forums (last time I looked the thread was 30 pages long)
-Further e-mails from THG to ]H seem to suggest that THG has backed off from the legal threat
Thats a long cliffs notes...
