I'm sure many of you saw Jon Stewart last night with Aasif Mandvi covered a "union protest" of Wal-Mart right?

Ya know the one where the union tard leader complained and staged a sign waving protest over poor pay, no benefits, and people losing hours at the local Wal-Mart.

Then he went down to the temp agency and hired people at minimum wage with no benefits to wave the signs outside of Wal-Mart.

Then he cut their hours.......

On a side note, at a previous employer, it was common to see Pro Union protesters protesting across the street. We'd see them pacing on the sidewalk with their signs with their leaders shouting unintelligible slogans into shoddy bullhorns. But, only during lunch hour. After that hour or so was over, they'd all leave. We later learned that they were 'professional' protesters being paid for their time to stand around and wave signs for an hour at various locations. :lol:

The look on that union guy's face was funny as hell. Stewart hits another homer.

And.....Yeah! Let's get rid of all unions so we can replace all those greedy union members with non-union illegal immigrants who will work at slave labor wages! Imagine how cheap everything will be then. Why, things will be so cheap, Walmart will go out of business with the expensive high paying Chinese labor they're using now. Yeah!
 
In the private sector, if employees choose (via secret ballot) to form a union, they should be allowed to. But they should know that their employer may decide to close shop then to allow unionized employees.

Non law-enforcement public employees at any level (local, state, federal) should not be allowed to unionize.

Yep law enforcement is important to keep union or every change of power is meet with culling PDs and enforcing on political enemies like some third world shithole but pay should not be on the table unionesque or strike allowed for pay. We've seen what a disaster this has become. Where officers stack on OT hrs last year and bring home 200K per year rest of their long life since they retire after 20. There are a couple cities in CA that can't even afford police due to retired ones.

Or just exclude overtime from pensionable earnings calculations....

I am not offended by any of those things. What I am offended by, however, are efforts to restrict excesses of any kind via the force of law.
