Oh Teh NOES!

So today, there I am expecting Halo 2 to show up.

"Knock Knock"

YESSS! I run to the door but it isn't UPS. It's these two women, looking to be in their early 40's.

I say "can I help you?"

They start asking me if I knew about the recent kidnapping and beating that has happened in the area. I think maybe this is some sort of poll for a news station to see if they are reaching people. I say that I had heard about both.

Then they say "are you familiar with the Bible?"

Hmm... apparently not news people.

I say "yes, my Mom was Catholic."

They then say "are you aware that the Bible has fortold the end times when evil things are happening and being reported by the news?"

I go "uh, not sure that I am."

They then proceed to read me two verses from Matthews, and give me a pamphlet (sp?), and then say "do you think that it is possible that we are nearing the end times?"

I say "uh, I doubt it."

They then say that I should read the pamphlet and that they would come back to see what I thought.

Oh Teh NOES! The pamphlet says the end times are coming. What should I do? 🙁

Repent and accept Jesus into your heart so that your sins can be forgiven, sinner.

Or run across a baseball field and throw up your hands and say "I'm saved."

point out all the flaws in their logic?

Yes, but then I'd have to read the pamphlet to figure out what their "logic" is. Not sure it's worth it.

Correct. If they come back, tell them your time is more important than being brainwashed by them. Hand them the pamphlet back, say "thanks" and close the door on their faces.

Don't do that. I think that's pretty rude. I was for two years a missionary myself. I thought it was a bit more polite if you just say something like: "I'm sure somebody out there will appreciate what you're doing. I think it's great what you're doing, but I'm just not interested. Thanks."

Then SLOWLY close the door.

But you have your choice.

Chances are, if they read you correctly, they probably won't come back....unless they are so bored or the work is slow.

Well, I think it's even more rude for people to try and instill their beliefs on me.
