OH PLEASE tell me Compaq users are NOT this stupid.

you guys are obviously not in the know, its a long standing joke (and fact) that the "where is the any key" question is the most frequent for ALL computer buisnesses. i can imagine how many phone calls microsoft gets a day on this.

Of course we've all heard this joke a million times. but it's just freaking unbelievable that Compaq actually has this in writing on a support page.

Well, another stupid tech support encounter.

I was in a computer lab and I got checked in on one of the computer. The monitor was set at 60hz and I was on the verge of puking. I called those so called "Lab admins" to come check it out and I demanded another pc. I was given another pc to work with then. While working, I could see him poking the buttons on the monitor trying to change the refresh rate through poking it. I could not help myself but to laugh out loud.

Another encounter, I was walking pass the lab ( same computer lab ). I saw two guys sitting on the floor starring at the Dell machine debating which is the CPu, floppy, HDD and other hardware. Again, I could not stop laughing.

Why do they hire such dumb@ss to work as admins in computer labs is beyond me. I tried applying numerous times and was rejected due to the fact that I do not know enough to become one. WTF?

Try explaining to your mom how to scan a pic, put it in a word doc and email it to you. Its a long and tedious process.

<< I'm just curious how you found that. >>

I seen that before. I found it on this website. You'll laugh for hours to come..

Something really funny I found there:

Customer: "Hello, is this Tech Support?"
Tech Support: "Yes, it is. How may I help you?"
Customer: "The cup holder on my PC is broken and I am within my warranty period. How do I go about getting that fixed?"
Tech Support: "I'm sorry, but did you say a cup holder?"
Customer: "Yes, it's attached to the front of my computer."
Tech Support: "Please excuse me if I seem a bit stumped, it's because I am. Did you receive this as part of a promotional, at a trade show? How did you get this cup holder? Does it have any trademark on it?"
Customer: "It came with my computer, I don't know anything about a promotion. It just has '4X' on it."

Customer: "Hi, I was wondering if you could fix my laptop. It's under warranty."
Tech Support: "What seems to be the trouble with it?"
Customer: "My wife got mad and threw it in the pool."
