I have a 2005FPW and she's already upset about the amount of light it spreads in the bedroom (where the computer is). I got the big brother today in a completely impulse driven way (I was at a lab picking up a PC for my sister, when I saw 8 2407FPWs stacked, I don't remember what happened next but I do have one at my disposal now 😱 ).

I only allowed myself to pick it up because she sleeps in a different bedroom lately (due to me working late on a project of mine), so I figured she wouldn't mind.

I still have it boxed. I could probably take it back to where I got it and get a refund, but then, that would be admitting my defeat. I love her more than any screen (but then, there's the 3007FPW)... To quote a popular phrase, "what a niggah do?"

And no, house rearrangement is not an option at the moment (gonna happen anyway in few months).

To make things worst, now that I'm in front of the 2005FPW again, I don't really see the reason I got the 24" in the first place (although I'd sure see it once it's up and running, kinda "if you build it they will come").

Cliffs:

1. I get back with a big-a** screen
2. GF won't let me use it because it spreads too much light
3. Instead of solving the problem like a man, I go and biatch about it in ATOT

Tell her the main reason you purchased it was so you could see her better when you two make love etc. That is, if you two make love and in the dark.

I thought about telling her that this is the only way I could fit more "tiny asian teen action" in my screen, but I guess I should opt for your solution.

Um...move the computer? If you have other rooms at your disposal, and she already complains about the 2005, just move the computer and you both get what you want. 😛

there are a couple of things you can try that would have her glad you were messing with your computer instead of her.

put a tarp/blanket/ something that isn't transparent at the slightest over the screen and then put yourself under it, like a fort per se. I used to do it on saturday mornings when I didn't want to wake up my brothers.

wtf... move your computer. Why is it in your bedroom to begin with? Christ... my roomate in college used to stay up on his computer till like 3am every night and it would piss me off to no end.

Instead of making your GF sleep in another room so you can work on some project, why dont you move your computer. Or maybe even work on your project at a reasonable time of the day and go to bed with your GF at a normal time.

I agree, that whole setup is heading for bigger troubles than it already has. Even the standby light on those screens seems like a searchlight in a dark room.

Update: Screen has been connected. I think I'M the one who's gonna have troubles sleeping with this thing in the room, on or off... OMG.

she has a right to be pissed off. Its a BEDroom. If he wants to stay up till 3am with a bright ass LCD, then he should move it to another room so she can sleep.
