Oh noes - ads on youtube

What fresh hell is this? For a while it was just the occasional long pause before playing videos but now I am getting full blown ads on Youtube. I was fine for years with Adblock but it seems like its time to move on (Reddit and elsewhere have people reporting the same thing)

Try a decent adblocker and you won't see them as I get neither the pause or ad's and it's been like that for years.

I noticed the same with ublock a while back. I ended up switching to Adblock and it seems to have fixed the issue. I'm sure ublock will eventually fix it too, if it's not fixed already. It's a cat and mouse game.

I'm actually OK with the occasional advertisement. My complaint was the constant ads and sometimes multiple breaks in a long vid. That got annoying.

It's not the ads, it's the repeating the same damn ad over and over again. I watch a lot of Vevo music videos and they keep promoting the same fucking song/bond over and over again. I don't like him, fuck off, please.

What's worse is when you're just killing time watching random videos, some videos being like 10 seconds long, and then you get a 1 minute unskippable commercial. Seriously?! The whole idea of commercials on the internet is mind boggling enough as is. If I wanted to watch commercials I'd just go watch TV.

Have not seen any since I went to Adblock though.

Speaking of ads, I'm getting annoyed at the websites that are blocking me -- they throw up an overlay telling me to turn it off -- now for having an adblocker.

Here's the catch: I don't have an adblocker, I just left the pop-up blocker on my browser in the default "on" position.

Yea, seeing a lot of that as well as of late, I wouldn't mind ad's if I didn't have to wait for the ad-server to load it, if web-site developers were more considerate I'd shut down adblock but since that's not the case it stays on for me.

Yeah it seems those sites still complain as long as you have the extension installed. I've even tried to disable it and it still complains. I don't go to said sites anymore. Forbes, I'm looking at you. Your click bait stuff is not worth my time to try to make it work.

WHAT???? You Tube is free and it has ads?? How dare they put ads on there site!! You say You Tube is free???????? hmmmmmmm hahahahaaaaaa

The issue is that it's actual commercials. If they simply had ads on the site itself or what not it would not be so bad. Youtube is pretty much unusable without an ad blocker.

Running adblock plus as well but lately some ad's have been getting through on you-tube but not a lot, probably 1 in every 15 vids.
weird.

I don't visit sites with anti-adblockers anymore.

Also the ads with links to "related articles" which are absolutely retarded clickbait shit like "pics of celebrities you never saw" usually make it through.

I wonder, can anyone using pihole test whether the anti-adblock thinghies detect it as well?

You can test with this article: http://www.aranzulla.it/come-cancellarsi-da-facebook-guida-22711.html
it will go straight to an anti-adblock page.
