I know it's bad for the hounds but what about the cats?

He looks sleepy now but then again his lazy ass is always tired. 🙂

I hope he's ok. He ate a few singles kitt katt bars. :Q -M

Although chocolates are equally bad for cats, cats are finicky and many cats won't eat it. If your cat does eat chocolate though, treat the situation as life threatening. Cats are small and it takes less chocolate to kill them.

Milk chocolate: 1 ounce per pound of body weight. Approximately one pound of milk chocolate is poisonous to the nervous system of a 20-pound dog; one-half pound for a 10-pound dog. Semi-sweet chocolate has a similar toxic level. Keep in mind that the average chocolate bar contains 2 to 3 oz of milk chocolate. It would take 2-3 candy bars to produce toxicity in a 10 lb dog.

I wouldn't worry...........

A few singles has far less than the pound it'd take to do any real damage. Something like 1/10th as much. Kitty will be sick, that's it. Take it to the vet if you're worried.

Are you sure it wasn't a 50lb box of chocolates?

Now that you mention it...

you might notice a change when he goes to the bathroom, but i doubt he will suffer any lasting results.

it is rare that a cat will eat choc. they tongues do not have the gland that recognizes sweet stuff, so they normally do not bother with it.

but i have a cat that loves choc. ice cream or cake, if it is not choc, she will turn her nose up at it. but she loves tomatos, popcorn bananas too.

I too would like to try this popcorn banana of which you speak.

My little cat, Penny, eats vanilla ice-cream, yogurt, french-fries, chips, popcorn, and velveta cheese. That's about it.

When I was in HK there used to be a grocery store near my home. The owner of the store feed his dog with a large bowl (10 cups) of rice with a cup of soy sauce every day. He seems to enjoy it very much.
