Mostly bench players?

Andre Miller - starter
Baron Davis - starter
Jermaine O'Neal - starter
Antonio Davis - starter
Reggie Miller - starter
Ben Wallace - starter
Elton Brand - starter
Paul Pierce - starter
Micheal Finley - starter
Raef Lafrentz - coming off the bench, maybe

Well, let's put it this way... except for mebbe Pierce and Davis... there really aren't any "star" players on the current "Dream Team" roster... yeah, Reggie's past his prime and he doesn't quite carry himself like a T-mac or Iverson or Garnett or Duncan or Kobe etcetcetc. He's not quite as capable of creating his own shot and taking over the game. In fact, only Davis and Pierce are truly capable of creating their own shots... mebbe Brand but that's about it. No wonder why they suck...

Still not convinced?

Andre Miller - led the league in assists
Baron Davis - All Star
Jermaine O'Neal - All Star
Reggie Miller - Past his prime, but once one of the best shooters/clutch players in the NBA
Ben Wallace - Defensive Player OTY
Elton Brand - All Star
Paul Pierce - All Star
Micheal Finley - former All Star

No excuses, IMO. After watching the Yugo/Argent game yesterday, I'm convinced that even the very top tier NBA players wouldn't have "blown them out by 50" every night. Only the '92 team w/ MJ, Magic, Bird, etc would be able to do that. The International teams played w/ so much teamwork, I was amazed. As an avid NBA fan, I've never seen that kind of hustle before (outside of the NCAA). This is why the USA team was "forced to shooting threes and getting fast break points" according to one sports article.....everything in the NBA is 1 one 1 isolation, they aren't used to teamwork :(. Everything w/ the Int'l teams was screening, backdoor cuts, and lots of passing. As a basketball fan, I sincerely wish the NBA game was more like that. It'd be much more fun to watch.

Actually, the only reason the best NBA players would dominate is because of one thing:

Shaq.

The same reason all other teams in the NBA have a tough time against the Lakers.

The current Lakers team will have no problem beating the gold medalist Yugoslavia. Vlade will probably foul out by the 2nd Half. :)

I'm sure the current USA team is good enough to win....they just need more practice time (much more than 1 week worth).

Go team USA! :)

dumb????? jeez, uh, ok, mj, magic, and bird of 92 can beat shaq, duncan, and garnett.....uh ok. dude, do you realize how much shaq is worth???? he's like 3 freaken players put into one. 1 shaq is better than both peja AND vlade. who's gonna guard shaq? ok, lets just say someone guards shaq, who's gonna handle duncan? ok, lets just say they handle them both...which is impossible. pop it out to kobe. lets say even in our wildest dream that they handle kobe, who's gonna handle T-mac (t-mac is identical in stats to kobe)? lets say all 4 are evenly matched with someone else, who's gonna handle kevin garnett? dude, fvck the team work, that roster i just gave you is so much better that pure skillz can handle it. and dude, current dream team are sucky all-star players. do you realize the difference between ben wallace (your defensive player of the year) against shaq/duncan??? there's no freaken comparison. it's like nba vs college. all right, lets compare, elton brand and michael finley vs mcgrady and kobe.....absolutely no comparison. jeez, think before you talk. this is all sucky nba players that's playing here. compared to iverson and kidd, andre miller's assist is worth squat.

Ok, compare this lineup vs. the current 'all-star lineup for the world game'

J Kidd > A Miller - leads the league in assist, but which team would pick A Miller over J Kidd?
Duncan > Ben Wallance
Webber/K. Garnett >> J O'neil (he will get better, but not even close to the level which K G and the rest play at)
Shaq > all ... I don't care if it is 'cheap' basketball... he is still going to f8cking p@wn you
Koby (all star MVP) > elton brand
T Mac = Paul Pierce (who is the best player on the current USA world team)
Iversion for backup

Take the above lineup... any NBA fans with the slightest knowledge would tell you that is a much much better team then the current USA team.
Above team >>>>>>>> yugo team with peja and divac (yes, that's their two best players)

enuff said.

5 ego players, who haven't trained too much with each other, won't beat a good team.

Our team was mediocore this year. Where's Jordan? Shaq? Kobe? Iverson (oh wait-- he's been arrested)?, Kidd, Bibby, Webber, etc etc
