New mobo for a laptop? Might as well get a new laptop.

Unless you get lucky and find a junker (ie broken screen) one on eBay.

My cousin spilled bongwa.. er tea on her 2 mo old dell laptop keyboard, it fried.
Dell wouldnt cover it under the normal warranty, luckily the hd was still good so I put it into a desktop and built her a new comp.

LOL! I do Gateway tech support. This reminds me of the time a guy called for tech support, had his computer case off, and spilled liquid on it, AS I WAS TALKING TO HIM! Needless to say, he let a few choice words slip... I tried to give him some of the same advise. Turn it off, let it dry out, etc, etc., but in the end his computer is fried.

A few years ago when I worked at a private college there was a drain pipe leak in one of the dorms. Nasty sewer water dripped all over this girls laptop. It seemed like a lost cause so we tried an experiment. We took out the drives and battery, filled a sink with distilled water (distilled will have very few electrolytes or impurities in it) and literally submerged the laptop and shook it around to rinse it out. We let it dry for a few days and it actually booted up.

Sugary drinks will corrode and short stuff out much more than pure water will, so I wouldn't expect the machine to work if it's not cleaned up right away.

My vote is bottled, distilled (not spring or filtered) water to clean it at first to remove a majority of the sugar, then maybe alcohol. I'd be concerned that nailpolis remover would hurt adhesives and such on the PCB.
