Oh no...everything has a blue hue...

Every once in awhile my monitor would have a blue hue for a few seconds- but it went away and didn't bother me for a few weeks. Well, about two weeks ago it got the blue hue for a minute a few times in two days- like one time it was off and on for about 10 minutes, the next day for about 3. Then it was fine till tonight. Now EVERYTHING has a blue hue...it was pretty bad, but it calmed down a bit to a lighter blue hue now...still annoying as hell.

Time to RMA I guess. Sh!t. :(

Hmm...actually it's a pinkish hue. I just went to one of the on screen menus and it looks pink instead of white really. Yeah, it is, cuz the blues are faded. But it also gave me a blue hue (like definitely a sky blue- cuz my whole monitor had a nasty blue hue) earlier. Damn it. :(

Sounds like your green is gone. When it is like this give it a smack on the side and see if it fixes it. If the color comes back it is a bad solder connection easily fixed. If not probably the green driver transistor on the circuit board mounted on the back of the crt or the green gun in the crt is bad.

Geez...looks like it's fine now. It was bad for a few minutes straight, usually it kinda flickers or something.

The on screen menus still look pinkish though. Have I just gotten used to it? :p

Well, I'll see how it does over the next few days- if it does this each day, I think it's time for an RMA. :(

If it is under warranty I would be boxing it up. Hopefully you have a spare so you won't go into withdraws while it is gone. ;)

Did you make sure it wasn't your video cable?

Could be the video cable. My old 15" was going yellow hue on me once in a while and it flashed then it went all yellow hue. So same thing that happened to you. Video cable was loose for me, maybe for you too.

Yes, it could be the cable too. A bad connection will be intermittent like that. Worse with time.. if it starts.

Ditto. The cable sounds like the trouble. It shouldn't be too difficult to replace. If the problem changes when the cable is moved, that is the problem.

Yeah, I had checked the cables- they were fine- but I took 'em off and put 'em back on anyway. Well, it hasn't happened since...so <fingers crossed>, hopefully it won't happen again. :)
