what you do is load counter-strike, then at that first screen just hit console, then it will take you to the console. do join a server you just type connect 23232.23.223.23 <--server ip
i have all the servers i like in a notepad file with connect and their ips right after so i can just copy and paste and go to console and join real fast
did i mention the pluses of the console?: if you get IMed or go out of cs, you can lose your sound, however if you do just hit esc while playing then hit resume, and boom bam your sound is back without quitting cs!!
Personally I use gamespy and I don't have to use the notepad, and I could always find new servers, or whatever map I feel like playing instantly. Gamespy automatically inserts the console tag to your half-life exe so that you get a console automatically very nice.

kinda off subject, but does anyone own the logitech mx500?
the binds dont work after u install the mouseman software..
has anyone heard or seen anything to make it work with the software?
onza
I have the MX700(which is the exact some mouse but only wireless) and I have a tweak which(should hopefully) fix your problem. Logitech drivers suck(and always have), but if you use MS drivers only, you lose the functionality of a button or two, since you paid good money for that mouse, you're probably not interested in doing that.
Basically it's set the wheel scroll to none in the Logitech control panel app, then install WinXP TweakUI and enable the wheel there. Then everything works, all the time. At first I didn't like the idea of mix Logitech and Microsoft control of a single device. But decided to try it and it really is a cleaner solution. You can get the TweakUI utility
here
If this doesn't help your problem with the binds(I'm assuming it's the wheel problem because every logitech mouse has this problem, I know you didn't mention the wheel at all

), rebind your keys again, and then when you're done, select the properties of your \cstrike\config.cfg and set it to READ-ONLY. This will make sure that your binds won't be messed with(some servers do that) and I would also suggest making a backup of your config.cfg file.
