Hi everyone, I have another 8KHA+ which is refusing to boot. When I got it, I put the Athlon XP1600+ in, and I put 256mb Crucial PC2100 in dimm1. I put my Geforce2 GTS-V into the AGP, but upon boot, I get no video signal. And the led says "FF" which means that it's trying to boot. The fans whirred and all, etc.

I then tried another AGP video card and a PCI video card, but all three video cards gave no video signal, and all I have is the "FF" on the led. I've moved the board outside the case, but it still had the same problem.

I've taken the HSF off the CPU and put it back on, and I've moved the 256mb ram to dimm2. But now, when I try to boot the comp, not a single fan whirs. I've cleared the cmos. Now, I am very stumped, and I don't know what else I should try. Anybody able to offer some advice?

Maybe your video card isn't mounted right or some other piece of hardware is messed up. I also have a epox 8kha+, but its running smootly. My LED on the mobo says FF as well.
When I first got my epox mobo, it had trouble booting as well. But the video signal worked. I just had some floppy errors. So all I did was disable the floppy from the bios and installed windows on it. I turned the floppy back on from the bios and it worked fine.

I am not sure about me screwing up the video card mounting, since I've reseated the three card ample times.

I just tried loading a T-bird 1.0ghz onto the board in place of the 1600+, but it would'nt boot (dead). I tried anothe PSU, a 250 watt, and it's booting again, but I'm stuck without a video signal, and all I have is the "FF" on the LED. Gee, now I fried my PSU!?!?

On a side note, the CPU fan connector on the mobo doesn't work, so I have to plug the cpu fan onto another connector (the one meant for rear case ventilation). Does this also indicate that I may need to RMA the board?

I`m thinking 250w is borderline for boot attempt with 1600+ so unless you have a high quality 250w PSU or one that`s on the AMD approved list this might be your problem have you tried a 300w PSU?...I`m using 431w with my Epox 8kha+ board.Anyway sounds like PSU or bad board.

Since my 300W PSU suddenly stopped working, I had to use my 250W to try to get the board working (yes, I've tried the 300W already, but it died on me). Since I'm only using my 250W on this board now, I am testing the board with my older T-bird @ 1000/100 (no time for bus adjustments now since the board's not working).

I don't know; I may have to RMA it if there's nothing else for me to try.
