I just bought an nf7-s mobo, for a processor I got a 2500 mobile, about 30 seconds after I power up the computer everything shuts down and an alarm goes off, I don't know what's going on and I can't seem to find abits table of alarm sounds. my ears are really hurting so I thought it was time to take a break and ask you guys, please help if you can =(
 
Yes it is an alternating alar. But it's hot even hot, I put my finger right on the base of the heatsink and it is cold to my touch.
 
Better make certain it is making contact with the core. I haven't used that board but it is good to check if it is a low/no RPM fan warning or such too.
 
I just picked up a stock coolmaster for the xp athlon models 2800+ while I wait for my thermalright (no overclocking til then though), It is making contact... I will check again when I get home, at work now. I have no idea what's wrong it worries me I'm ging to have to rma the mobo 🙁
 
Same thing happened to me. It was the CPU/No fan thing. My fan is tied into the psu molex, not the fan header, so it though there was no fan. If this is situation then disable that feature in the bios. If not, hope its nothing major.
 
no it's not the problem 🙁 the cpu fan goes right into the mobo, i will try to disable the fan check in the bios but it usually shuts down about 2 or 3 seconds after i get into the bios
 
If the heatsink is cold, the heat from the processor is probably not getting to it, meaning its not seated properly. I know you already said its seated properly but its really worth reinstalling the heatsink just in case you couldn't see that it wasn't on right.

Also, make sure the heatsink isn't on backwards. One side of the heatsink's base should have sunken in part, that should go on the side of the socket that has the retention lever.
 
omg I feel like such a noob 😱 heatsink was on backwards omg /slap self! I will post an update if all goes well! Thanks and omg again I win the noob trophy for today 🙁
