Who the hell drinks this? Someone gave me a bottle of it, and I just made some planter's punch with it. It's freakin' horrendous! I mean, sweet jesus, is this just for people to get drunk with? Because even mixed, it's nearly intolerable.

The very first time I ever had alcohol poisoning, it was b/c of Bacardi 151.

It was....1985 or so....

Went to a party. Drank like, 4 beers and was wasted. Someone started passing around a bottle of 151. My buddy poured like half a cup's worth into a 16-ounce plastic tumbler that I was drinking beer out of. They "made me" chug it. 😕

I went outside for some air...the world was spinnning. Decided I needed to sleep. Got into my car. Laid down on the front seat.

Woke up like 6 hours later. My face was stuck to the vinyl bench seat by my own FROZEN PUKE. It was winter in NYC....January...about 10 degrees outside. Frozen puke. I've never seen it since then. Never want to see it again.

Buddy of mine at work who was in Vietnam used the stuff to....ummmm....clean his equipment after a visit with a bush bunny. Said he was the only guy in his unit to never get VD.....seems to me that something that works so well for that should never be consumed....

flaming dr peppers need 151. It makes the flame. 🙂 . Just drink less of it. Dont mix half and half, mix about a 1/4th to a 1/3. 151 gives many drinks that punch that people like to say, hey thats a strong drink. Im going to correct you on one thing. People who drink grain alcohol, aka Everclear drink to get drunk. 191 proof, illegal in several states. Moonshine is the only thing that can be of a higher proof that i am aware of.

Mixing a 1/4 is ridiculous. I put like 8 oz of pineapple juice, 8 oz of OJ, .5 oz sweet lemon juice and .5 oz grenadine with 2 oz of this stuff. And it's still a little rough. Actually, it started off rough, I can't really notice it much anymore.

yes 750ml usiall 14-18 depending on the store and special, its always on special in pa for around 15$

I don't like 151 either, I've never had the high tolerance for alcohol that some have, and never felt like less of a man for not wanting to get black-out drunk and puke all over myself. Like anything else I do, I drink to enjoy myself - for me, this means at most 500ml of liquor in a night, spread out over ~4 hours. At 750ml I'm well into hangover territory, and at a litre I'm looking at (judging by last time) 24 hours of keeping nothing beyond a sip of water down, and an additional 2-3 days of utter misery.

I'm just used to all this Vodka. I'm not a big Vodka fan but it's so trendy now that I have to buy it. A $14 bottle of liquor is just 😕 .

I'm talking about 'regular' (80 proof) liquor. 500ml is about a pint; half of your average bottle. It's nowhere near lethal range, and being able to take no more than that (well I can, but have this thing about not wanting to feel like sh!t the next day...) can get one labelled a lightweight, girlyman, etc. Not that I care.
