Oh my god someone hacked Ashley Madison...

I think this is funny as hell...and as much as I hate the POS bastards who hack everything possible...I don't completely disapprove of this one. 😛

i'm torn. people's privacy should not be violated like that. but...cheaters.

I'm onboard.

On one hand, cheaters.

On the other, consenting adults and company only facilitates transactions between consenting adults.

On the extra hand, hackers and privacy.

I'm just going to sit back and be entertained by this one. A former friend used to brag about banging married men. She's probably on there.

Actually as long as you assume the site is secure almost any other way probably looks riskier. At they very least you have to let someone else in on it, staff or otherwise, and that puts you at risk.

Yeah, but someone looking on the site is likely to recognize you from the photos... right? I don't know, I never used it.

Mutually assured destruction? But why not make a fake account and go through all the photos for people in your area.

Getting the file dump has proved very difficult. It's being removed at a rapid rate.

I'd really like to confirm some suspicions of a previous SO..

Some kind soul can feel free to PM me..

I hope the site crashes and burns either way.

Dealing with an affair by a cheating spouse is not a fun thing to go through.

So.....anyone want to bet that their data was also stored unencrypted?

IDGI - Why are members worried? People
wouldn't sign up with their real email, would they?
People are not as smart as you seem to think they are.

Avid Life Media also said that it had hired "one of the world's top IT security teams" to work on the breach.
I suppose they should have done that before this happened.

<Captain Hindsight awaaayyyyy!>

The unpredicted result is that most wives will thank their cheating husbands for doing it and ask for threesomes, and not the devil's threesome kind. Divorce rate plummets and divorce lawyers look for other work.

BTW, I can imagine a place like AM being a huge resource for dates as a single person.

Has anyone actually seen this list? I'm beginning to wonder if this is fake. So far there have been a lot of threats but no sign this list actually exists.

Also, I'm betting 90% of the people on the list are named Smith or Jones 😀

News article states they gave in to the the demands of the hackers. SO it sounds pretty damn true.
