i do understand that some chinese from main land china r more materialistic (money...money and more money)... coz they come from different society....i would say evolving/changing/advancing(?) society.

many of them have been here for quite a while.... but still staying in a closed circle within friends from the same village/province.... and u know how that goes.

happens a lot. when i went there. i bought a book for a few dollars, later, the same person sold the exact same thing to someone else in my tour group for a lower price. i didnt mind since it was really cheap, i guess its just how a lot of vendors there do business. shouldnt happen in larger stores.

I went <dr evil>"laser"</dr evil> shooting not long ago and twice in the game my gun stopped working I played like 15 minutes out of a half hour game. I yelled at the guy and he says he'll give me a free pass, Chinese boss comes out and says "no fwee pass buy 1 get one fwee" so at least I got something but I still think I deserve more. Like why the hell are they putting in a dysfunctional gun if they know it has problems. The guy told me "Ya this one it happens all the time to it" so LIKE TAKE IT OFF CIRCULATION!!!

But I don't even know if his boss was Chinese could've been Japanese, judging my his buckteeth, he was probably Japanese.

no,
being an abc, i'll acknowledge that everytime i go back to china, i find the mainlanders extremely sly, money-hogging, and impolite (very rude). You have to bargain with them on EVERYTHING! In general, there's just a lack of public decency and honesty that i find here in the states. Anyone who's gone back to china should know what i'm talking about... just go browse the night marketplace or any touristy area to find out.

my advice to you is to find that withness and contact a lawyer. threaten the landlord, say that you'll call your lawyer and stuff, and tell them you have a withness. Also mention that if he is convicted (somehow) he can be put into prison. Chinese people hate police, lawyers, and prison. so hope that helps.


ps. just don't threaten threaten him, just tell him what would happen if he doesn't change his mind.

I once have a white landlord and it happen to me as well.

I used to live in FL during college, one of the condo I was going to rent, the landlord ask for 2 monthes of depost, and the door next to me, he only have to pay 1 month depost. WTF.

This type of BS happen to almost anyone, try to see if they offer some small court sattlement in your location.

ALSO, see if you can find a lawer friend, to make a phone call to landlord, that should be enough for him to give up the money. most people don't like lawsuit, court, police, and governmnet stuff....

Now a day, when I rent a place, I alway take bunch of pics and video and let landload sign the paper says that is what is was when I move in, and by the time when I move out it should look the same.
after that, I don't get a problem at all....

I posted this post is because it "is" happening. (present tense). I just don't know what to do with him. I am not against any race, just happened that my landlord is a Chinese. If I knew this would happen, I would stop my sister to rent the house, it is that she didn't tell me, and now there is no lease, nothing I can do.

If she's at least 2x the brain that you are, she would've paid with a check and could maybe used the cancelled one as proof of payment.

Just casually mention that if he is going to keep your $650 deposit that leaves you with two options. You can sue him for the money or make sure you get your $650's worth. (it's important to be very vauge here and make no implicit or implied threats, only things he can infer and you can deny). Personally if someone kept my money like that I would make a choice, depending if I had the time to go to court that would be the prefered alternative, if not I would make sure that he had something to spend that $650+ on if you catch my drift.
