Oh my god I could have been shot

So...I live in a nice, calm subarb...my girlfriend lives in the nearby city of Reading, its a nice place lol it is in the top 5 for murder rate per capita in the nation. So anyway, she lives about 4 blocks from where she works, at night, if I can, I try to give her rides home from work whenever possible, sure its 5 miles out of my way but I don't want her getting shot or raped lol....so today, I'm on my way to pick her up, the place she works is on the corner of these two roads, im turning the corner, she messages my phone saying 'oh my god there were just 7 gunshots outside the store'...as she said this, I see a group of seemingly angry arguing people standing down the street....lol I was scared I kept going, circled around, and they were gone 2 minutes later...apparently she messaged me directly after it happened...so if I had gotten there 30 seconds sooner and parked, I might have been shot or caught in the crossfire...thats scary

It wasn't your time. One day on the way home, I heard a bullet miss my car and hit a refinery tank just beyond the car--the sound originated from the driver's side, and the tank was on the passenger's side. Life goes on..

Yes, I realize what it was a joke about. Guess what, US soldiers have made mistakes more than once, killing innocent civilians when they were trying to get the bad guys. Sound familiar? And once again, I don't see anyone making fun of them...

Dude...if I had gotten there 30 seconds earlier there would have been 7 gunshots fired at my car...from what I gathered at the scene, they were fired in the direction I came from, you would have been scared too.

Since I decided to start posting on this board I've noticed a definite division between the quality of the posters. On the one hand you have those who are obviously intelligent. On the other you have those who seem to fall sqarely into the category of "ignoramus". If you speak from a basis of informed fact you would know that your petty comments regarding another nation are no more than insults based on vaporous misinformation.

Would you like to know why they're using Canadian snipers in Afghanistan? Because they're the best. Last year they walked away with all the top spots in international competition, easily beating the best the US has. Every year without exception Canada took the top spots in op William Tell, the US run fighter pilot competition. Would you care to demonstrate your provincial level of ignorance some more?
