I got my scanner to work with XP pro but last weekend I had to reformat the drive. I am trying to scan a couple of pics for a friend that just contacted me after almost 20 years, we were in boot camp together. He sent me an email and asked if I remembered both he and a friend of ours. Of course I do, in fact I have some great pictures of us in "A" school in the great lakes. I was trying to install the drivers again and #$$%$@$$%@$# XP problems once again. I had it all worked out before my fdisk, but now it is fvcked up again. WTH??

I got the drivers and uninstall exe, but no go. Is it me?? I had it working before, what the hell...

I really want to scan these pics and send it to them, they were great friends in boot camp and in school.

Scanner: Canoscan 1220u
OS: XP pro

Hehe, no.

I fixed this a while ago and thought I saved the drivers in the folders where I put all my updates. I was wrong. I looked for the drivers (one is an uninstall and one is the new driver) and they were not with the rest. I went and downloaded the drivers again, but they did not work this time. That is my problem.

I am going to start drinking if I cant get it to work though...

Is that a usb scanner? I recently had to help an xp user with his IBM usb scanner problems. The only way to get the scanner to work was install the driver and then re-plug the scanner into the usb port and re-boot. If I installed the driver while the scanner was plugged in, for some reason the driver wouldn't work. It sounds kind of stupid but that's what worked.
