Someone was in my apartment. I just got home after being gone for about 1 hour and the blinds were open and I know for a fact that they were closed when I left this morning.

It may have been, but I am supposed to get 24 hours notice before they let someone in.

A. Check to make sure nothing's missing

B. Does anyone have a key to your place? (Edit: Aside from the landlord, obviously)

C. Are you sure you didn't leave the blinds up by mistake?

D. Check the lock on your front door and see if it looks like anyone dicked with it.

Do you have an animal in the house that likes to open and close blinds?
If not go search for stolen items.

C)Yes, I always keep them closed, I hate the light. I also remeber them closed from last night when I watched tv in the living room.

Weird. Well, maybe the landlord showed someone the apartment and just forgot to tell you, although that theory is admittedly pretty thin. Get a hold of them and find out, I guess.

Edit: If the landlord wasn't in your place, then get the locks changed if you can.

He might not have actually shown anybody... he might have came in to do a quick rundown himself before he wanted to show people (so he's not surprised of anything... like a big pee stain in the middle of the room).

"Hey, dude, you know what'd rawk?"
"No? What?"
"Let's break into some dude's apartment, open his blinds, jerk it in the mayo, and then leave."
"Dude. That's totally, like, awesome."

I called and the lady was out for lunch. But they said they would have called and I said they didn't because there was no message on the machine and then they took my number and said they would makesure to call in the future. So I still don't know if they showed it or not.

eeeeewwwwww...

Scotty, your landlord IS NOT supposed to a: enter your apartment without notice, and b: show your apartment to any prominent tenants. I'd get a book on tenant rights if you haven't already, and take some action. My old landlord was a bitch like that as well.

There was a thief inside, he was searching for valuable items that were portable enough to take on foot.
As he was searching, he heard noise outiside OR was checking for people on shortly spaced intervals by opening the blinds and looking out the window.
On 1 interval he saw someone coming towards the door and ran out the back entrance in which he broke into.

(Whole theory negated if you dont have back door) :)

Yeah right.

When would he have had time to jerk in the mayo?
