Why stop at Kobe?

Shaq - you could have won the game if you made more free throws.

Horry - your offensive foul turned the momentum of the game when the lakers needed it most.

Lue - good defense for a full quarter, but then you drove when the game was on the line. Bad move. You got knocked down, didn't get a call, and never got back on D. From hero to zero in one sequence.

Fox - who the heck were you passing to? They may call him superman, but not even he flies that high.

Kobe - more turnovers than assists. Shaq is the right hand fought strong, but you never backed him up as the left.

Round one tothe middleweight champion. Now the heavyweight is pissed.
Congrats to philly. That was the best game of the playoffs yet.

Round 2: Friday night.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I need to remind the anti-Laker fans before we all get too happy.

For the sixers to keep on rolling, two things has to happen.

They have to
1. keep the Laker from scoring over 90 points a game.
2. Put more than 80 points up on the board.

It's very unlikely that the Sixers will win many games if the Lakers score 94 points in 4 quarters.

Keep in mind the Sixers are a very streaky team. They have alot of 80 point games. The Lakers on the other hand, are difficult to stop offensively. Very rarely do they not score 90+ points in 4 quarters.

the lakers were very rusty, that much is obvious

fisher sucked, so did kobe

the lakers blew it in overtime. they were up by 5 w/ 2:13 to go and then proceeded to suck it up

iverson had a great game, especially at the end

Of course it wasnt JUST Kobes fault... however the point is the Kobe vs MJ comparisons of the past few weeks have just been proven to be dribble. Iverson looked more like MJ to me... turn it on WHEN IT COUNTS.

oh please. so he made a wide open three. big deal.

you think jordan would have been shut down by tyrone lue????!!!!

one game doesnt mean shiz especially when you havnt played in 9 days and are rusty cause of it

Wow. You are a Laker/Kobe fanboy aren't you? lol

Bottom line: WHO produced the 'W'? The 'W' is what its all about.

Oh and I simply compared Iversons clutch performance IN THIS GAME to MJ... I am certainly NOT comparing either Iverson or Kobe to MJ on an overall basis... neither could carry his jockstrap IMHO.

The true greats step up when it counts the most.

PS: I want the Lakers to win (I love Shaq) so don't try tag me as 'biased' for either team/player :)

I just gotta laugh at these Laker fans. Rust? The Lakers started that game like all the other ones. Was it rust when they went up by 13 in the first quarter? And Lue did a good job. But in the OT Iverson adjusted and scored 7 pts in the 5 min OT session. Lue can't guard Iverson either. That is now 2 games in a row in which AI has lit Kobe up for 40. All that weak stuff the Lakers got against the pasties they played ain't gonna cut it against the Sixers. The Sixer D will play even better on Friday. And what is lost in this is the fact that the game was turning into a Sixer rout in the 3rd. If Mutumbo doesn't go out with that 4th foul in the middle of the 3rd, the Sixers go on to literally blow the Lakers out of their own building. Its only one game but the Sixers will only get better. :)

And as Iverson put it
"There are a lot of broke people who bet the Lakers were gonna sweep."

This is the first time in which I see them angry. The Sixers are pissed at the lack of respect. These Sixers are gonna be relentless. And get this. The Lakers are already in a must win situation. I love it :D!
GO SIXERS

Kobe is probably to busy trying to figure out how he can get 50 anchovie pizzas delivered to Shaq's house to focus on basketball.

Man it sure is quiet here today. Except for the few whimpers in the background from those stinking lousy Laker fans. :) I sure wish I could have seen the bandwagon riders faces last night when AI drilled that 3 in OT. hehehehehehehe They better win on Friday because if they don't their @sses are going to get swept. Thats right swept!

Yeah, Kobe definately had his head up his @$$ last game, he went back to old school kobe, the kobe before the all-star break... he tried to do it all himself... when he couldn't hit jack.... What happened to Tyrone Lue? I didn't see the 2nd half of the game... I heard he did good.

Lue did real good..................holding that is. He should have kept holding. Because AI proceeded to score 7 straight points in OT. The Lakers ain't all that. I hope Lue starts on Friday, AI will hit for 50 plus with him guarding him. They'll have to try and beat the Sixers like everyone else, double team Iverson. But in the end everyone else failed. :)

Phil Jackson is so predictable.
I knew they were gonna lose the first one and win the next 4.

what can I say? the guy likes winning the championship in home court. and if they swept, that wouldn't have happened.

btw, anyone who really knew the game would have bet on Lakers in 5. (like me :))
but I don't bet in legal tender, I bet in mcdonalds bigmac's :D

I'm not a hard-core lakers fan, although I will defend them so... even if they do lose the series. Speaking of "Losing the series", I can't believe that people are staying "Lakers in 6" or "Philly in 4", after a game like last night there is no way anyone can make a prediction... lakers up by 13, then philly up by 12... there is no way a prediction can be made between these two teams... it's gonna be a good series whoever wins... and that's what I'm all for in the Finals.... A finals that is worth watching... and this is one of them.

Wishful thinking. The last 7 series in which Phil Jackson has coached he has had 2-0 leads. And the NBA has the 2-3-2 format. So if they win 4 straight they will win it Philly. So much for wanting win it at home. He wanted that game last night make no mistake about it.

I cant believe there soo many ppl flaming Kobe on this one. Yes, he had a poor game, but do you think the Lakers would've swept the Spurs without him? He won the first 2 games for the Lakers, while Shaq is plagued by the Twin Towers!! He also played big role in the Sacramento series.
He's definitely ain't MJ yet, but if he keep improving, then its always a possibility.
I hate the Lakes too, but seriously, too many ppl blame him and forget what he had done so far. How bout Shaq missing those FTs? The TEAM loss, not just 1 player! Give credit to the Sixers too! They deserve it and if they keep playing like that, their chances of winning the championship looks pretty darn good!

URAMORON... as Classy already pointed out it's 2-3-2... I wish all you fanboys who don't play ball, know jack about ball, or even watch any more than the Finals would STFU while Philly humbles your overrated lakers...

i dont think kobe will get on fire...because he cant drive with mutombo in the way. and even if he did get a 50 point game, shaq qouldnt do good, because that is how their team is structured...if one does good, the other doesn't, only sometimes they both do good. mutombo wont get into foul trouble anymore and beat the crap outta shaq

I can only speak for myself, but, I am not flaming Kobe necessarily, I'm flaming ALL those wannabe Laker fans that couldn't keep their mouth shut for the last 2-3 weeks about how great the Lakers are and asking if they are the greatest team in history...Is Kobe better than MJ? etc. It felt good to shove it back in their face is all. Even if it's for 1 night. Kobe needs to grow up ALOT! He ain't sh!t compared to ANY Hall Of Famer, let alone the greatest player to lace 'em up.
It was nice seeing Stalinator with nothing to say for once. :)

haha this thread is funny

one lucky victory gives philly and philly fans a false sense of hope.

ive said it many times before, blowout in game 4 and a philly fold in game 5, cant wait till friday

all this smack talk by classy in this thread and he wasnt even man enough to take my bet of a laker sweep in the first union center, what a chump!
