How long have you been on the cortisone shots? From people I know who have had them they are indeed a miracle.

Wow. How long do the effects of the shots last?

I occasionally have pain in my fingers when I've been working too much and not taking the weekend off to relax. Kind of worries me considering my hands are my livelihood for the next 40+ years.

that's where we're different. My dominant hand is strictly used for recreational purposes.

Haven't had any cortisone shots for the last ten years, thankfully. I try to stay as few and far between as I can manage, so I don't wear it out as a working solution for me when I really need it.

Wow, several of us here with RA/SLE. I've been diagnosed with both, RA a long time ago and now I also test positive for SLE. Ridiculous.

Can't tolerate cortisone, sadly. Not supposed to have things like Embrol or Methyltrexate, and there are a lot of things I've tried but were unsuccessful - Plaquenil is my miracle drug. When I have to take a break from plaquenil, I use opiates.

I was a piano student at Juilliard when I was first seriously diagnosed, but I'd had the same problems since I was little. Pain tends to move around depending on which joint/organ wants to torture me.

Congrats on your pain relief! May it last and last.
