I watched the whole debate, well worth it.

Look, someone please answer. Occasionally very lately I've had this problem. I can't hit Anandtech Forum pages without doing a Captcha thing verifying I'm not a robot. WTF. Today, it's worse. Once verified if I go to a different page in these forums, change forum, whatever, I have to do that danged thing again. WTF is going on and how do I stop this BS?

yeah I get that on occasion too

He doesn't need to win debates, just do good enough.

It's been his best debate so far. Not brilliant, but good enough.

Otherwise he's known, experienced, and proven in the wh. Not everyone is looking for the most progressive polices.

Lol, what? He's consitantly blabbering senile, with a brain as much molted cheese as Trump. He voted for iraq war, against gay marriage, pushed the drug for war 30+ years, didn't think patriot act went far enough (!), and he nibble on little girls! WTF, this guy is worthless as a democrat, only marginally better than trump, and if anything the shitshow of POTUS Biden would pave the way for trump 2.0 for sure!

This debate reminded me of the things I like most about Warren.

It also reminded me of the things I dislike most about Warren as well.
This debate knocked her down several notches in my book. Her purity test for Pete was ridiculous and I'm happy he was able to defend himself the way he did. No one can beat the gop if they don't get funding from millionaires, that's just the reality of running for politics nowadays. And he was so right to call her out on her hypocrisy.
I like her, but I groaned every time she talked about selfies

Andre Yang's comment about people having to shake the money tree in Mayor Pete's Crystal Wine Cave was one of the best dunks of the night.

Mayor Pete an Obligarch's tool for the 2020 campaign.

Maybe it's just me but I think PBS was the best platform by far for the Democratic debates, seems like they were a lot more fair to all the candidates on board compared to the other shitty news networks. If the media would give both Yang and Sanders more deserved time in the spotlight, I believe Sanders's number would be better than it is now and Yang would actually be a legit candidate. I think Yang is the best so far at trying to dissect the problem in this country and Bernie's message is one that help the country the most in the future. Biden didn't fuck up so that's a plus for him but it doesn't make me want to vote for me anymore than I did before. I really think that he is a dead end when it comes to improving our country and the only person that he is better than in terms of legitimate candidates is Trump.

I agree with most of what you say here, except the part about him only being "marginally better than Trump." I see no instinct in Biden to be a dictator who eschews the rule of law. Trump is a threat to democracy in the United States. The same cannot be said of any current democrat running in this primary.

I got it once a day a few weeks ago, seems to have stopped and only get it occasionally.
[Re: captcha I'm not a robot hoops here... repeatedly if not constant!]Well, I just came back and so far so good... fingers crossed. Have no idea why it was happening or what stopped it or what I'll do if and when it starts happening again. It was like a sudden itch you can't stop having to scratch. Argh.

This one was better because there weren't so many candidates. Still too many, but better.

For those with Captcha issues, post in the forums issue topic. It's horrible. For a tech site, they are shitty with tech.
Thing is a lot of things are very very seriously broken here right now, I've never seen any site, much less a tech site, with such glaring terrible issues. I posted some in the issues forum, the answers from mods here (or whoever they were) were that they figure it'll be dealt with in the next upgrade. That was maybe 4-5 months ago now and AFAIK nothing's improved. Bolding text still (usually) spills into other parts of your post. Adding a link to a portion of text likewise bleeds, making your post look (and probably act) thoroughly insane.

Why are you afraid of Mayor Pete?

I'm adverse to those who choose to go with GOP talking points after their first strategic approach to the campaign faltered.

but hey man it's your head-space not mine so you'll see not much more effort from me to argue against your conclusion. Not enough reward.

I do agree though that Yang would be a benefit in the administration in one capacity or another since he is one of the few really talking about automation and what it could do to thousands (millions?) of jobs in the next decades.

Though there's a difference between Republicans then and now. Nixon considered single payer health care and price-controls, after all, and even a negative income tax. It might well be that a moderate Democrat now would not have been out of place with the Republicans then. Republicans constantly move right-ward over time.

(It's entirely thanks to this forum that I raised an eyebrow at the fact Nixon's proposed welfare scheme was called "Family Assistance Plan" or FAP.)

Cuz you are a bot. You are just not aware of it.

The main thing I got out of this debate is that I can't vote for Tom Steyer. I didn't think I had an issue I wouldn't support fixing global warming over, until now. Steyer basically said he'd give the Chinese anything to get them to stop burning coal. I'm reminded of Ben Franklin's quote that those who give up liberty to purchase a little temporary security deserve neither. Securing liberty and democracy may just be worth making some parts of the world unlivable.

Not possible. One time I did have a dream which was very realistic and while dreaming I asked myself if I was dreaming and the answer was absolutely no! However, a bot I am not!
