[rant] I love my girlfriend, I really do. But she really needs to grow a backbone. She has this ungodly fear of stepping on anybody's toes. Sits in her dorm room and moans and groans about freezing her @ss off because the heater doesn't work, but she won't go down to the res life office to fill out a request form because she doesn't want to "disturb" anybody or "cause any trouble" . Umm...forgive me if I'm wrong, but that's what the maintenance crew is there for, no? Heater hasn't worked since about the middle of last semester. Still doesn't.
She got onto her computer today and couldn't get into her e-mail. Showed it to me to see if I could fix it; after all, I'm supposed to be the know-it-all computer geek (how I ever get myself stuck into these roles I'll never know, but for her I'll put up with it.) I knew what was wrong, but it was nothing I could fix. She had to talk to the people at the tech help desk. People she knew and has worked with. And again she didn't want to disturb anybody. I had to sit there and convince her to walk down and talk to somebody. Took all of two minutes for them to fix, and everything was perfect. [/rant]
