Parts Express specifically lists their high-temp caps are for power supplies, but you guys feel free to pay $30 instead of $3 for your capacitors!
It makes me wonder how anybody can sell a reliable motherboard for under $100, if they need to spend $30 on just the capacitors for them to be good enough.
I'd RMA the board or just play it safe and buy a new one before I'd spend $30 to try and fix it myself.
Because we buy 10 or less at a time. The manufacturers buy 10 or more cases of full reels of parts at a time.![]()

Is this sarcasm or is the fact that you posted three times in a row part of a hilarious bout of coincidence?

This is the perfect time for a situation that I have to.
I have the EpoX 8K3A+, and as one of the mobos on the lists, it does have the faulty caps I guess.
What does it take to replace these caps? you just pull on them? or does it take some intense soldering.

Anyone else think its crazy that the manufacturer's aren't doing anything about this, even though its a known fact that the capacitors have proven to be defective?
You're really going to spend $20 on capacitors and solder and time, and risk it still not working, rather than just buy a new cheap motherboard?Originally posted by: iloveme2
Also, which ones would I get?

AFAIK, many are. I've heard of quite a few guys here being able to RMA mobos well out of warranty with all bad caps.Originally posted by: Buck_Naked

I want to, but I just can't sympathize with a guy that drives a Miata. ESPECIALLY one that supercharged his Miata. I would honestly rather drive my last car - '88 LeBaron - than a Miata. But that's just my opinion.Originally posted by: iloveme2
only to find almost all the capacitors on the board had burst open. I was just reading about someone w/ this problem a few days ago. The USB problem was unrelated btw, I had the connector on wrong. But wtf?!?! How long can I expect the board to work like this?

If Newegg doesn't RMA it, check with the manufacturer.
