Oh, did you want to change the AC compressor on your Audi R8?

I guess if you've got the money for an R8, you can pay someone to remove the engine so you can change the AC compressor. Then again, I don't think I'd own a pricey Audi without extended factory warranty...

My guess is that many exotic cars are the same way. Design for style and performance, rather than for easy repairs.

How many a/c compressors is someone going to replace in the service life of a car like the R8?

There are some cars where you have to drop the engine to just access sparkplugs.

A big reason why these are considered exotics and out of most people's reach even if they can handle the asking price.

Wouldn't it still be under warranty at only 1 year old ? ? ? As to other cars with hard to get to parts, try the starter in a Cadillac Northstar V8
It is Inside the engine block.
