Oh crap! I didn't know I just ordered OEM ram!

nope. Still looks like it has LT warrenty.

Maybe Newegg put the "real" warranty in an obscure place on their website? I'm having doubts about OEM ram, since i've heard reports they break easier and also they are slower in speed? Is that true? 🙁

doubt it. They should use the same chips and as for breaking, well PCBs are pretty hard to break unless you try.

Between this thread and your earlier one, I've honestly never seen someone so inclined to panic and overreaction, lol 😛. It's just like the retail version, without the fancy retail packaging. You don't have any missing cables or adapters to worry about since it's just a RAM stick, OEM or retail. I've never bought an OEM item that was of lesser quality than the retail.

Then what is the difference between OEM and retail? Does Newegg tamper with OEM ram? That's why they are cheaper? Can i trust OEM ram?

Here's a page at Directron.com that should explain everything:
http://directron.com/oem.html
(All of that info applies to OEM products you get at NewEgg and other reputable dealers too.)

So is OEM ram refurbshed or is it brand new?

Do you think I should cancel my order and be on the safe side and get retail RAM instead?

lets say this oem is cheper then retail. All retail is is its boxed with fancy stuff and w/e they do oem is jut the ram in a plastic case no fancy rapping. And it is the smae thing as retail

relax buddy there is nothing to worry about. OEM just means it doesnt come with the fancy box or cables and sense you dont need that there is nothing to worry about it is the same as retain dont worry its from newegg so there is nothing to worry about.

Ok... so I can be rest assured that I'm still buying high quality RAM that was made by Crucial right? Or does crucial give the parts to Newegg and newegg makes it?

Also, do you think I should cancel my order and be on the safe side and get retail RAM instead?

OMG...

For the last time, your frickin' RAM will be fine :|!

If it were refurbished RAM, then NewEgg would have explicitedly noted that on the product page. And you can't buy their reburbished items unless you explicitly went to the refurb section of their website, which has pretty hard-to-miss warnings posted everywhere that what you're buying is refurb.

Does the ram i purchased still have the lifetime warranty on it? I'm worried Newegg will put "limited time warranty" in fine print so I can't find it.

YES. What are you smoking today?

sorry dudes... I'm just a n00b at computers in general.... So I can rest assured that the ram i purchased was made by Crucial? Will having OEM ram void my warranty?

Ok, last question I promise!

Will having OEM ram void my warranty?

dude, stop askign the same damn questions over! OEM is from the manufacturer. it is not boxed or anyhting. it is retail just comes in retail packaging for proper sale in retail stores. oem is just the item itself. GUESS WHAT!! THEY ARE BOTH FROM TEH MANUFACTURER AND ARE SUPPORTED BY THE MANUFACTURER! THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH OEM!!! HELL, EVEN ON CERTAIN THINGS, I PREFER OEM OVER RETAIL! WHY? BECAUSE ITS CHEAPER AND DOESNT COME WITH ALL THE BVLLSH!T RETAIL DOES SOMETIMES.
