Oh crap! I didn't know I just ordered OEM ram!

Your warrany will be void if you use UPS, of course crucial will tell you otherwise because they want you to buy it. You see the Patriot Act stipulates that all carriers must scan their packages to look for bombs and such. Unfortunately UPS is the only carrier service to use a magnetic-photon scanner. This scanner has a nasty habit of messing up computer parts, especially RAM. It doesn't destroy it right away, but it does cause slow degradation over time which you don't notice until its too late. Its like cancer for computer parts. Once the computer part is "infected" it can spread to the other parts of your PC over time, destroying it in the long run. Supposeldy the infected parts can cause cancer in lab rats. Also only women can run the scanner for UPS since it causes sterility in men. So, don't use the ram when you get it, burn it, but make sure you are standing far away when you do burn it, it may explode. Remember, stick with fedex and the post office.

...Yeah...He's right. It's annoying how the government has to step into the way of everything, stupid Patriot Act. ramj70's got a point, the new technology (I beieve it's called Magnetic Laser scanner, they don't use photons anymore) that UPS carries is damaging to your hardware. However, most products arrive in a well-packaged box, so they shouldn't have any problems... on the other hand, I'm not too sure about OEM products. Limp packaging could introduce potential weak spots for the magnetism to damage your sticks of RAM.

Putting your RAM in your computer may be harmful, but then again, learn to take risks! Live live to the fullest! Carpe diem, carpe noctem! Live for the moment, not the future! Move forward! Innovation is creation!

....I'm having too much fun.

I'm going to sue UPS if my stick of RAM breaks, that idiot company will pay! :|

ya, about me saying ramj70 is bsing, i was lying

the laser scanner can create a tiny air bubble in the ram, and when used, it will expand and blow. the explosion will probally take your entire system. sadly, the govermetn has no plans to fix this issue, and the only way it to back it so well, the bubble does not form. however, in the case of OEM it will be diffrent, and the air bubble might form.

also, as pentium guy said, the magnetic rays might damadge ur ram. its said, really.

Go sue them bitch. They deserve it.

Hint: next time do your research before buying a product. WhoTF orders from UPS?

UPS is actually pretty good. They offer 3 day shipping for the same price as Fedex. I used Fedex before and the box looked damaged when it arrived. I'm thinkng that UPS will be better.

LOL!

you are so totally being messed with

WTF. "shut it" BlizzardWolf. Its coming by ups and thats it SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Its coming and it coming.

PS: I cant wait for him to post back saying he got it and telling us how to install it or i put it in and now my comp wont turn on. I saw sparkes is that supose to happen. or some stupid S$it

I don't know how I responded to this without knowing....so now I feel the need to say something.

😕

Make sure you install permament magnets in the case to keep microgenericorganisms out. These will cling to Crucial ram that was shipped 3 day UPS and short it out if it is OEM. Good luck!

Are we trying to make this thread as long as as the "crystals" thread?

BTW, did anyone ever identify themself as the starter of that thread? Might be the same as this guy.

Permanent magnets? That doesn't seem correct...... can someone answer me if i should install the ram on wooden floor? It doesn't make sense for me to install it on metal floor, my house doesn't even have metal floors.

Idiot. They're BSing you...install it on a carpet, but in order to get rid of the static charge from the carpet just rub the sticks forcibly onto the carpet (this process should take ~30 minutes)

Wow, do you want me to break my ram or something? I"m not that dumb... rubbbing it on carpet for 30 minutes will surely break the ram. Can someone just give me a friggin honest answer? Should i install it on wooden floor? :|

ROFL!

This is some funnt shiat! 😀

Hey OP, OEM is perfectly fine, for the zillionth time 🙂

O.K. I think we already esstablished that OEM ram was fine. My new question is, do i install the RAM on wooden floor? What are ways to prevent static without haveing me buy an antistatic wristband?

You are better off buying the anti-static strap. Just buy Retail strap and NOT OEM.

PentiumGuy is correct. Also, since the RAM is OEM, like we said before, it will not come in the retail package. Ideally, you'll need to clean off all the dust that settled on the RAM sticks during shipping (we did warn you about using UPS after all). Trust me, there will be some in the RAM crevices, even if it's hard to see. I recommend using a vacuum cleaner for this (most come with handy brush attachments). Before you do this, make sure to discharge any electricity that may have built up on the vacuum brush by rubbing it rapidly on a carpet, as PentiumGuy suggest with the RAM itself..
