That's why I was confused by what he wrote. "That $105 is that price b/c you have to pay $16 shipping. Everywhere else, with free shipping, has it for $120." So is he shipping it or just calculating shipping costs into his price?

No he's saying that if you were to buy the bike rack new online, that's how much most stores charge for it. He's trying to sell his bike rack locally, though.

:Q

Is that pretty common? Can't say I've ever really run into that one before, but I rarely buy or sell stuff on Craigslist.

Had someone ask the same for a videocard I am selling. You open it you pay.

He's asking $115, and people are offering less than $105 based on one being available for $105 before shipping. I might pay the $115 just to not have to deal with shipping, and could probably determine when I went to buy it whether or not it's been used. I'd definitely offer less than $115 because who doesn't haggle on CL? :p
I always assume people have jacked the price up to account for haggling, just like with cars.

It's 105 before shipping. However, I found this place that has it for 105 with shipping, but I am gonna go out on a limb and say that it is probably not in stock. Either way, the the thing retails for $150. It is on sale now everwhere for around $120 b/c thule is not selling a thing. I have no qualms selling at a lower price ($110 or even $105), but if they want it any lower, then get it else where and do not bitch that my price is to high.

Craigslist fvcking sucks it. I hate the site and have only ever sold ONE item on it. Otherwise an item that would get $100 rom a reasonable person won't go for $20 on craigslist. Everybody on CL should be put to sleep.

If you're selling on craigslist, you have to sell for substantially below retail. Sorry, but you're in the wrong.

it's below retail, not by much, but it is. I'll sell for $105 on the dot, but not $90. That $105 is that price b/c you have to pay $16 shipping. Everywhere else, with free shipping, has it for $120.

If they buy from you they get no warranty, no reciept and no return policy.

Those 3 items right there are worth way more than a couple bucks. You're insulting your customers and yourself.

Charge a restocking fee for opening it. :)

so you'd have no problem buying a 'new open box' item for all your purchases?

Most don't and why there is a substantial discount on NOB items even though they are effectively new.
