Fuck I couldnt use irons anymore. Should not rely on tech so much but its so superior.. I have been tempted to put a rod dot on my bennlli shotgun LOL but I get my limit before anyone else :p

Seriously, you get what you pay for usually and ACOG is not exception... get a ACOG worth every penny.

Hahaha! They cost a lot of pennies!

I used to shoot accurized M14s competitively, carried the various M16 variants, M60s and M240s and all used iron sights, so I can attest to their utility with a low tech solution.

Can't argue with the value added the new optics bring. Too bad that it is so hard to get the thermal imagery sights in the civilian marketplace. Night shooting is 1000% more effective with those.

I used to also carry a Gerber Mark 2, but it never left my sheath on patrols except to cut open C ration cans when I got one without the P38 or cut open LRP rations for the cornflake bars. And a Colt Government .45 that also never left its holster except for shootoffs with one of my First Sergeants who was a President's Hundred shooter. Damn, he was accurate all the way out to the .45s effective ballistic range, bulls-eying up to 200 meters.

Are you a cop PJ? Should be able to sample all of tijicons stuff through their LE sales office. That's how I got to sample - not a cop but fop sponsorship has it's privileges like shooting at their range and trying new fancy stuff.

I am an international finance and business/economic development guy that started shooting small bore competitively while in college after seeing the light while in Ranger School.

Besides pulling more than my fair share of infantry platoon leader and company command assignments I was an Assistant Division Range Officer for a while where I got the chance to fire up any left over ammo daily with my NCOs, most of whom were ranked marksmen. They taught me a lot.

I don't shoot small or large bore competitively anymore, didn't do much anyway once I had command responsibilities, but do get range time in monthly with my wife, who, while not nearly that good at range shooting, likes to play kill house.

My monthly budget for this kind of fun gets used up by ammo, so buying stuff like ACOGs gets pushed off and off and off. Plus I am kind of conservative. :awe:

Clearly, it will always at least be Heathen (I like how you emphasize these by using uppercase letters, clever) but sometimes I may not feel demo.. sorry...Democratic, or particularly Liberal, especially when using condiments, I've read they aren't that good for you so I won't be so Liberal in my use of them.

You have yet to say you are not meaning "boy" for Jesse Jackson as a racist insinuation. Until you do, there's every reason to view it as what it appears, you trying to 'get away' with it.

It's not that hard for you to say you don't mean that - but you haven't. If you are trying to get away with it, we can expect your next to be excuses why you don't have to say that - not saying it.

I've often seen bigots who hear some reference to killing the target of their bigotry find it 'really funny'.

The reason is, the humor is rooted n the release of their tension at usually having to express these feelings.

Seeing the topic said so openly, the tension just brings on the giggles - and excuses. This is why bigotry 'jokes' are so popular - under the cover of 'jokes' they can say what they can't say more directly.

I'm not reading too much into anything. I asked you a question to help clear up the issue.

You're not answering.

Maybe it's innocent, and your explaining will confirm that, and that's it.

Or maybe you will dodge answering, for another reason.

The stoning gays question is not related, really, just a standard question about your literalist views that could be asked separately. You going to answer?

Did you mean it as racist, or not? You're the one dodging - you're not being called racists if ou say you didn't mean the reference to a black leader as 'boy' to be racist. You're the one not saying it.
