We can never really know for sure. But there is data/analysis showing the loss was due to demo shifts that can be logically explained by the candidate differences. Namely, huge drops across all male groups and little/no increase in female/AA vote.

I still don’t get how so many people wanted Trump out in 2020 but not in 2024.

Basically. Trump was about the only world leader who didn't get a rally effect from at least being perceived to handle COVID well. Which given his public displays in 2020 is not exactly a surprise. People got tired of the Trump Show and wanted to change the channel.

But it was way more than just Covid. He was and is basically a dangerous loose cannon or wrecking ball. I guess that is what a lot of people wanted, believe it or not.

You must be rather insulated from the news, or conservatives in general. For they screech all the time on the subjects to scare voters and cast blame.

Immigration, crime, inflation.
Did you know Biden personally made everything in your life more expensive? Did you know he stole money from you and gave it to Ukraine? Did you know immigrants are eating your dogs and cats?

If not, you still don't know why Americans voted Trump. It's because of propaganda, and we let it run free.

It's amazing the only time I hear conservatives talking about helping the poor it's in relation to the money going to Ukraine.

Just like the only time they care about recycling is when talking about windmill blades, EV batteries, and solar panels.

Yeah notice he didn’t talk about invading Panama, Greenland, or Canada during the campaign. It’s frightening to say it but he was way more disciplined during the campaign and I thought he was a shit show then.
