These were the people chosen by the people. The problem isn't the candidates chosen. The problem is us.

Seems evident part of that problem are people who think a pretty mundane centrist is categorically the same as donald trump.

Yeah, you're right. Except that at least for the two main party's no matter what the "public" says the corporation still gets to say who will represent them. Anyone in in the D/R party could have said "whoa whoa whoa, the public is idiots, we can't put that person up there" and changed it.

well, the one thing I can say about the Pubs this year, The Donald really was not the corporate choice. While once we assumed that idea was always bad, I think it may be best to go back to corporate choice...because maybe the people really are too stupid to handle this one.

I guess if you're gullible enough to vote for him, it follows that you're gullible enough to believe they're actually leaving the country if he wins.

No these were the people chosen by a tiny fraction of the people consisting of mostly the fringes of each party. In the days when political conventions actually mattered and chose the candidates you generally ended up with centrist candidates from each of the parties.

That's the most compelling argument I've seen yet..

Huh? Are you kidding? Do you really think that all guys brag about abusing women? I can tell you upfront that I have never done that in my entire life. I can also tell you that I have never abused women. Sheesh.

I highly doubt they have many reasons to worry about leaving the country in their circles, atm.

Actually same here...I've said things like "Wow...wouldn't mind her in the sack", but never something like "I'm gonna go grab her boob..."
Coincidentally I just came across this. Check out the one by eternaladdictions:

That doesn't make any sense.

These people commanded some 16-20 million votes each in their respective primaries this year.

Back when the party conventions chose candidates, you're talking about 2-3k delegates--at most--choosing each person. You really don't get more fringe than that.

Your argument simply doesn't hold up against math.

You guys would get these three:

- Lena Dunham = I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will. I know a lovely place in Vancouver, and I can get my work done from there.”

- Rosie O'Donnell = Canada

- Raven Symone = “My confession for this election is if any Republican gets nominated, I’m gonna move to Canada with my entire family. Is that bad? I already have my ticket … No, I literally bought my ticket, I swear.”

And the others:

- Al Sharpton = "out of here"

- Amy Schumer = Spain

- Amber Rose = "I can't even think about it! I'm moving, I'm out! I can't. And I am taking my son with me!"

- Whoopi Goldberg = "I don't want it to be America. Maybe it's time for me to move, you know"

- Miley Cyrus = "My heart is broken into a 100000 pieces...I am moving if this is my president! I don't say things I don't mean!"

- Samuel Jackson = “If that motherf—ker becomes president, I’m moving my black ass to South Africa.”

- Eddie Griffin = “If Trump wins, I’m moving to Africa. If he wants to build a wall to keep Mexicans out, I know what the f—k he feel about a n—a.”

I guess some people still haven't developed a sense of humor yet.

This is a real humane society ad:

CvJK51mW8AA9obs.jpg

Obviously, it didn't go over well. WTF were they thinking?

And then there's this one, from a few days earlier:

peta-cat-ad.jpg

But for the latter I'm not really surprised, given it's Peta. They have a long history of bad taste.

If Sam Jackson actually said that, I'd vote for the guy (Sam Jackson, obv)

Eddie Griffin also made me laugh, but he never really made me laugh before.

PETA is against pet ownership last time I checked.
