is that for real?

yeah, its for real. I happened to be up around 5am this morning and was lucky enough to get one almost identical to it at that price. Have the Order Confirmation e-mail in my inbox and just waiting for it to ship now. :)

Actually, in looking at it closer, the $59 one I got is diff. My order has a DVD & CDRW instead of just the CDROM.

AFAIK there is home, SB, outlet, and (I guess) LB.

no kidding, so much work could be done cleaning up the fields and providing an xml/websvc interface.

we need a sep site with forums, chat and some info for this dell refurb stuff, although that would ruin any competitive edge by those doing the big time selling (you, bam, etc...). i personally dont resell, just looking at it for fun after i bought a few systems for myself and family.

i dont do big time selling, maybe more like a hobby. i dont make enough off of these, and i spend too much time both at home and at work. i wish my retired dad can help though... :(

i started in outlet to get myself systems, but i keep seeing better specs so i sell off the old ones only to find out theres money to be made. thats how i started going into ebay back in december. i got my ebay account in 2000 and didnt get my first transaction until 2004... :D

Same here, well, sort of. I have a full time job, do this every once in a while for extra dough.

Cool, maybe you could share how you got the add to cart working? :) I've tried several combinations of filters and I can't get mine to work :(

BTW, does IE have a auto-refresh plugin?
These are the filters I use (courtesy bamacre). IE does appear to have an auto-refresh built in * (see below). In any case, I did not have to do anything beyond installing Proxomitron and setting up the filters as described in the linked page to make autorefresh to work.

* I thought that the autorefresh in IE is a function of Proxomitron. I thought it modified the Dimension listings page that it loads in IE to autorefresh (using a meta tag or something). I did not think it was a feature of the browser.

Does anyone have working filters somewhere?

need these to get the cart working right?

Picked up an Inspiron 1000 Celly 2.2 with CDRW/DVD 30GB HD 256MB RAM & tons of software for $460 shipped! :)

I've been looking & it looks like the laptop deals at least are dying down?

I did see a few for $320 with just DVD ROM but they are near impossible to get in your cart due to the scripters. :disgust:

I'm going to e-mail Dell support and see if they can help me with scripting.

Does anyone know what I should ask them? I was going to say "I'm trying to get the best deals so I have this script that load the page and looks for stuff" but that doesn't make much sense.

Any thoughts?

As serious as cancer, bub.

I just did, in fact. Although it came out a little different than I intended:

To whom it may concern,
Many people on "hot deals" forums (which I'm sure you've all heard of by now) such as www.fatwallet.com and forums.anandtech.com, use different coupon configurations to try and get the best deals on systems. I'm sure this is not news. What I'm writing about is that in addition to that, many motivated people have taken to writing scripts for Proxy servers that constantly refresh your Dell Outlets invetory pages, selecting certain criteria and adding them to their cart (thereby nagating anyone else's chance to do so). They then figure out which systems they want, purchase them and sell them on Ebay for profit.
I don't argue with their right to do so, but I was wondering if perhaps there was a way of tweaking the website to allow such quick refreshes, or only allowing a certain number of items to be in a cart at once, or somehow otherwise foiling these proxies to allow people who just want to buy a system to get the best deal possible.

Thank you for your time,

:D

Edit: The irony is, I don't even WANT a system. I just want people who do want to buy one to be able to do so.
