they're not junk

i found my first great deal last november, a 8400 with 1G 533, 3.4 540, 250GB and GTO for 760.
then found a few XPS, upgraded and sold as I got better specs, without losing money
now I snatch XPS's. 8400 are too hard to come by, i guess since they cheaper more people buy them... I basically max'ed out my 5-digit credit limit AMEX last month to get my outlet XPS's and my extra expenses from moving apartments... i had to ask for a credit increase

I'm with gshock, I've picked up 3 loaded XPS systems for resale and hopefully will make more off of them than the 8400's with less work. I just wish they shipped sooner, I bought 3 XPS systems 2 days ago and they just shipped today via ground so I won't see them until friday or monday.

I DO hope everyone complaining about tax killing a deal realizes that the law (in 'most every state) requires reporting online purchases for use tax payment!

I always do (at least for big-ticket items, I may forget for a small item like a 50pack of DVDs for 10-20 bucks!).

Of course, Dell charges tax in my state (VA) anyway, so this isn't something I have to track come April 2006!

im sorry but if you report your online purchases to pay tax on your tax return, more power to you. but i think the feds are taking enough money from my paycheck to blow away on the Iraq war and NY City is taking way too much for a city where the cost of living is already amongst the highest in the world.

I would recommend you do. I hear you, but the law is the law. Jail is not good. I keep good records, keep receipts, and pay tax on my profit.

free shipping is there. i think they run a refresh every wednesday night. you see the discount gone and return... if you keep reload every few seconds then the same system would get discounted after a while

"It's funny, I was sad I missed the sub $300 days (looking for self, not resale) but still happy when I snagged a mid $400 system. Now I'm looking at the drops (out of morbid curosity) and feeling pretty good about the deal I got when I never see anything sub $475 wth less hardware."
i really regret not getting a sc400 when they were $274 without rebate now
